Forums Fixes Update

Forums Fixes Update

Dear Forumites,

Thank you for your ongoing patience as we resolve the issues with the new platform. We understand how frustrating these issues are, but rest assured we are continuing to work on stabilising the platform. This post is provides some updates on fixes we've been working on.

Error messages on accessing or posting to the Forums

Users have been reporting different errors encountered when opening posts or creating their own posts. Brower errors 406 and 503, as well as the orange banner message "Reply could not be posted. Please try again". We have deployed a fix for this so are hopeful that users no longer see these issues.

Frequent logging out

Members have been reporting frequent session timeouts. We are investigating why this is occurring, but have increased the session times in an effort to remediate the issue in the short term.

Notifications

We continue to have issues with EMAIL notifications. Email notifications remain disabled. We are working on a fix which is planned for deployment this coming Wednesday (1 July). All notifications are still available via the bell icon next to your profile picture.

User Profiles

Unfortunately access to the user profile page remains disabled as we continue to implement a much needed fix. We plan to bring this back online on Wednesday 1 July.

Performance

A deployment will be made tomorrow morning (30 June) that should see a marked improvement to performance.

A massive thanks again for continuing to engage with the SANE forums as we continue with this major technology change.

The SANE Technical Team.

Re: Forums Fixes Update

can i please ask when you tag someone, if you wait a while, it comes up with their username for you, and then it types it in bold. .Do u need to wait for it to come up, or if you just type it yourself, will it still tag them? Are we going to also have the automatic tags back, where it pre-fills when you type @, so you can see all the people in the thread and opt to tag them.

Also everyone is now a "senior contributer" next to their names. There is no one who is a psw. There seems less peer support workers. Will they be replaced by moderators? Per royal comission, peer support workers should be in all parts of mental health.... its the way of the future.

Is there going to be a fix also with the tagging, when u are tagged it doesn't take you to the exact location, so its confusing to know who is trying to speak to u.

Also many ppl have expressed distress, and that these changes are affecting their safety. While logging off is always an option, and encouraging other supports, for some ppl this is a solid space they get help from. Perhaps there could be increased psw or moderation support over this time? I would even volunteer an hour of my time for example. It is saddening, and to be frank, triggering, to watch members decompensate and i feel it's hurtful to just dismiss it with "well maybe the forums aren't for you" - these are long term users, they clearly do benefit from an online space and are valued, so it shuld be possible to work together to keep them feeling valued and safe here. Of course, if they choose to pursue recovery elsewhere thats absolutely fine, but it should be a choie made by them. Just my 2 cents.
