Riding a wave

Riding a wave

Hi all,

@CherryBomb, @Former-Member or any other @Former-Member floating around Forum Land, will you ride a wave with me? I thought I would be fine doing something...but it turns out that the something has made my big feelings BIG and now I'm in a pickle...and there's nothing worse than a pickled turtle! I'm going to go and snuggle in my bed so I probably won't actually respond to you, but it will still super help me to know that I am not utterly alone on the wave. I don't want to tag anyone else because I don't want anyone to feel they need to respond. Thank you in advance for riding with me.

Re: Riding a wave

I feel utterly alone in my muddle. The bigness of the wrongness of the wrong has completely destroyed me. I have no one and no purpose. I have no reason in the world to keep on keeping on.
I do not matter,
I'm only one person,
Destroy me completely,
Then throw me away.
Shhhh don't tell. 😔😔😔😔😔

I hear you too @Phoenix_Rising

Re: Riding a wave

@Former-Member can you please come and visit on the ocean? I feel super super super alone. I seem to have misplaced my not-friend, but I'm pretty sure that's because I'm snuggled so deeply in her pocket, I just can't see her.

I have big missing River9 feelings, which in turn trigger big missing CherryBomb feelings, which in turn trigger big missing M, N, K, F, and E feelings. Everybody goes away!!! There's nobody @Former-Member.

Can I tell you something? Sometimes I find it really really hard the way people go on about having no one...and then in the next breath talk about their partner or their children or their parents or their...somebody. There is a fundamental difference between FEELING like you have no one and actually literally HAVING no one.

When I first told TTT that everyone goes away, she thought I was exaggerating. But after she read some of my history and I again said "everybody goes away," she responded with "well they certainly have so far." Everybody goes, everybody leaves. Thus is it really so strange that I have very significant abandonment issues? I don't have an irrational fear of abandonment - the objective reality of my world is that every single person I have connected with in real life has ended up walking out of my world - even those I've only connected with via telephone! People like me until they get to know me, and then after they get to know me they don't like me anymore...and I don't understand why.

Hi @Phoenix_Rising,

I am so sorry you are feeling so alone at the moment. I just wanted to let you know that I am here riding these rough and crashing waves with you tonight, Little Turtle.

Hoping that things will be a little bit brighter for you tomorrow.

Re: Riding a wave

Good morning on the ocean,

@CheerBear I read your book post over there --> I super hope this week is a calmer and more peaceful week in your world. I guess the term "mood stabilizer" can sound more scary than "anti-depressant" but it isn't as scary as it may seem. I have just gone back onto a medication that is technically an anti-psychotic, but is used in very low doses as a mood stabilizer and even a sedative. I have gone back onto it for the sedating effect. I was on it previously for a few years and it super helped with my mood at first, but over time it lost that effect. Towards the end, it wasn't even having the sedating effect anymore and that's why I went off it. This is one of those drugs that I will go off and on, rather than increase the dose when it stops being effective. I was off it for about 18 months, and have now been back on it for about a week. It has totally solved my sleeping issue without any negative side effects so yay! I will stay on it now until either my world settles down or the drug once again loses its effect. That was all my super long-winded way of saying that mood stabilizers aren't as scary as they sound.

I saw TTT this morning. We are getting into the rhythm of Monday appointments, but we still have a couple of Tuesday ones over the next few weeks. I super like being in a rhythm.

I am loving our ritual of starting the session with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I go in, get the weighted blanket off the back of the chair, and snuggle under it on the couch with turtle and TTT's teddy bear and weighted toy. I can feel my whole body relax, to the point of almost falling asleep, as TTT reads. I think it is the most amazing thing in the world that I've finally found someone who understands giant muddles enough to have figured out what would be helpful!

After that bit, we had to do the less fun bit of filling out the form for Victim's Services.

Then we spent the rest of the session talking about the gigantic wrongness of the wrong, and how much harm organisations can do when they get stuck using their lizard brain. In case you don't know, this is what TTT means by lizard brain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n09iwPMRYbI

We talked about how I can't control if or when an organisation will manage to rise above using its lizard brain, I just have to super work at not using my lizard brain in response to them using their lizard brain. It's HARD!!!!

I am so very VERY grateful for TTT. It helps so much to have the gigantic wrongness of the wrong validated. It's not right, it's not ok...but it is what it is.

I wanted to tell TTT a bit of the wrongness of the wrong that I haven't told her yet, but she said we should wait until next session and start off with that, because we wouldn't have had time to deal with it and put it back in its box today. The thing is, she told me that even without knowing, she knew that what was said was unhelpful and she is sorry that the unhelpful thing was said. Don't you think that's amazing @CheerBear? TTT can know without knowing!!!! She can understand without knowing, better than those who know can understand! I so very badly wish I could send TTT your way CheerBear (and bookish, and a whole bunch of other people).

The other super cool experience I had with TTT today was that we got into one of the "but you said..." things. And guess what? Instead of her trying to say she didn't say that which I remember her saying, she just said that yep, she had said that. This led into a conversation about how I frequently get into muddles because people say something and then later deny that they said it. TTT said the same thing as I've always thought - that people have in their head what they mean, but their words come out different, and thus when I repeat back the actual words that they said, they say they never said them because they remember what they meant in their head, not the words that came out of their mouth. I so very very badly wish other people would believe that I remember the actual words and would just clarify what they meant when they said X, rather than trying to tell me they never said X.

Anyway, that's my news for the day. It is a super nice sunny day here in Sydney. I super hope there is some good in everyone else's day today.

Ps. Awww @CheerBear now I've written a book! Methinks you are a bad influence on me.
