hi @Jessicat
and welcome to the forums it is so great that you have joined - break ups are so tough and we have so many complex and often conflicting emotions and it can be so up and down at first. I hope today that you can just be kind to yourself and give yourself time to work through these feelings and thoughts, there can often be so much grief and loss, even if the relationship needed to end it is still so challenging to keep moving forward, so give yourself that time ❤️ and be patient with your heart.

Hey @Jessicat
I am so incredibly sorry you're going through this. A breakup after 7 years is a massive life-altering shift. The grief from losing a relationship that is deeply rooted in your life takes a real physical and emotional toll, so please allow yourself to just feel what you are feeling and take things one hour at a time 💚
I just wanted to say that this post resonates with me. I'm polyamorous, and while I am still with my nesting partner of nearly 3 years this month, I have had two long-term relationships end in the past, and recently, I was broken up with by this guy I was seeing for a month and was friends with my nesting partner. So, the feelings are still a bit raw.
But even when you have love and support still present in your life, the pain of a specific, meaningful connection ending hurts deeply, no matter how short or long that connection was.
Grief isn't an equation in which one relationship cancels out the loss of another; every bond is unique, and every loss deserves its own space to be mourned.
You are not alone in this. This community is a safe place to vent, cry, or just exist while you process everything. Take it very easy on yourself today. Water, comfort food, and zero expectations of yourself are a good place to start 💚
