scared of self

scared of self

i got mental issues that normally are managed without medications. but recently my stress has made me.. respond in ways iv never thought i would. after.. a big fight with the wife over something that was pointless i walked out to take a walk to take abreather. her ptsd kicked in and she thought i was running away for good.. i may be dumb but not that dumb... anway... durring this episode i ended up calling ambulance to get her help and she was sent to hospital under section 22 or whatever.. being an amarican.. im fuzy on specifics.. after discharge i wanted food. the bro inlaw deliberatly ignored my request dispite me willing to pay and didnt order me food as hes mad. so i was planning to take my car to get my own food later.. knowing a blown head gasket wouldnt let me return to only open place for hours till it cools.. i got a replacement engine so i care less if it blows.. point is.. i was texting the wife about it and he was reading over my shoulder and him already being pissed started to get on me that im blaiming him for driving my car so i told the driver at the time to stope the car.. counted to 3.. and attempted to jump out.. issue is. i dont remember making that choice.. i just.. unbuckled opened door and tried to jump driving down the highway... since then the voices i struggled with since 13 been more active. sayin things like maby i am the issue.. maby i should have just jumped... my wife isnt safe around me.. i tried a text hotline but its closed.. google ai said try this.. but idk if this is even right...

Hi @cadnoid

It's really difficult to find help as a potential offender. The system favours working with victims of violence etc, not offenders

But just keep reaching out. If your GP doesn't help, try the next option. If that fails try again somewhere else. Sooner or later, someone will help

Re: scared of self

I think you should call emergency services and ask for assistance.
Whatever your going through its obvious by your post that you need help sooner rather than later.

Hi @cadnoid

It takes a lot of courage to open up about what you’re going through, and I’m really glad you shared what’s been going on for you. It’s great that you reached out, and I’m really sorry to hear the helpline you texted was closed. That can feel really disheartening when you’re already having a tough time.

It’s great you are taking steps to find out where to get support, it’s important to get help when we need it.

Here are some services in Australia that are available 24/7 you can contact anytime for support.

If you, or someone you know, is in immediate danger, call triple zero (000).

If you are feeling unsafe for immediate help and support contact:

  • Lifeline: 13 11 14
  • Suicide Call Back Service: 1300 659 467
  • 13YARN (for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples): 13 92 76

If you have concerns around relationships

  • MensLine Australia (1300 78 99 78) offers free professional 24/7 telephone counselling support for men with concerns about mental health, relationships, anger management, stress, and suicidal thoughts.

I really appreciate you sharing and opening up about the challenges you’re facing. It’s a big step. I encourage you to stay connected and encourage you to explore the resources above and reach out these services-they are there to help- you don’t have to carry this on your own.
