Hi @tyme I hope the hayfever settles down. Do you take antihistamines or use those annoying nasal sprays for allergies?

I’ve got the jitters today, but I’ve just taken a PRN, hopefully I get decent sleep tonight. It was a struggle to fall asleep last night and my Apple Watch recorded it as sleep even though I clearly remember looking at my watch to check the time long after bedtime. Silly watch.

@GezzaP I reckon prevention is always better than going into a bad acute episode that needs hospitalisation. I hope your mania doesn’t progress. Keeping your psychiatrist updated on your symptoms

heheheh @creative_writer , I take antihistamines on most days. However, I didn't have it the last two days because I finished what I had and I couldn't be bother getting a new one... however, tonight I found another box of antihistamines so I've taken it.

It was much worse in the past. I saw an allergist for many years and had thrice daily oral vaccine to desensitise me from allergens....

Hectic!

I hope your sleep improves!

Do you get hayfever? I think Melb is the hayfever capital. The dry conditions means pollen goes everywhere @Shaz51

Do you get hayfever? Then again, in QLD, due to higher humidity, my hayfever isn't as bad. Melb is the worst!

Cheese on Crackers (Biscuits) @Shaz51 Nice, that's one of my favourite snacks.

@tyme I've heard allergist can be helpful, my supervisor on my SW placement said her prescription meds were a lot more effective the OTC stuff. Though she did say her meds were super expensive. It is a good sign that your allergies have improved. We did some deep cleaning of the house recently, hopefully my allergies improve with that.

I'm not sure how much I trust smart watches, I think they do give you good information, but it can't always pick up the difference between lying in bed and actually sleeping. I've had plenty of time I woke up exhausted but my watch said my sleep quality was excellent. I suppose the only way to get accurate sleep data would be to go into a sleep study, I'm not sure I want bits and bobs stuck to my head

@creative_writer

Yes. If you wear 2 different smart watches. Say samsung on left and apple on right, you'll get two quite different readings

Mine say that I only get 5 to 8 percent REM sleep

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 2nd May 2026

I never wear my smart watch to bed. I have a sleep app on it, but I use that time to charge my watch. I need a new one actually. Mine is so so so old. I bought it many years ago and even then it was $800! I wish I bought a cheaper one so I'd be more okay to replace it. I bought the smart watch with all the inclusions e.g. wifi, cellular, etc... and I don't even need all the features.

I also look at my iphone and wonder how accurate the data is too @creative_writer

They actually collect a lot of data.

I always find your posts so interesting.

I'm not saying other members' posts aren't interesting, but I've seen how far you've come over the years.
