How do you deal with...

How do you deal with...

I saw my mental health care physician. I told them about how I was feeling and they didnt action anything but pointed me to a more expensive treatment. I dont feel supported or assisted. It has really ground up what little hope and progress I had.

Now I feel like im at a dead end with nowhere to go and nothing to look forward to.

Hey @Anonymouse1000 ,

Sitting with you here. That sounds so deflating. I hear your concerns and how discouraged it must be for you.

We are here to ride out the wave with you.

Can you think of anything that you find helpful or meaningful?

My family give me meaning and a reason to continue... I do just want to hide though...

Re: How do you deal with...

With such discouragment, it is only natural you want to 'hide' @Anonymouse1000

We are totally hearing you - it's not easy at all.

At the same time, finding meaning and purpose through your family is exceptionally powerful. I'm sure you mean a lot to them.

We are here to support you all the way. You deserve to be supported.

Re: How do you deal with...

It's a difficult space that many of us have experienced before. I know I have. Just that dark dark space where you feel there's no way out.

Yet clinging to those things that are meaning for you, helps us get up not matter how hard it is.

Sometimes, that's what I think happens with parents. Each day can be exhausting and tiring, but knowing that your kids need you gets you out of bed no matter how bad one feels.

It doesn't make the pain or hurt disappear, but it makes it that little more bearable.

Thinking of you.

Hi @tyme

Today has been a hard day... I woke up feel very flat and drank 4 coffees to try to push past it... it didnt work and sent me into a panic attack... I thought I was going to present at the emergency room am tucked up in bed right now riding it out... I wanted to go back to the MH but I have to work... strange how something like that can mess you up so much!

Re: How do you deal with...

Hey mate. Sounds tough @Anonymouse1000

Do you know that the trigger for the panic was (or was that the 4 coffees?)?

I used to struggle with a lot of panic in the past, but over the years, I've learnt to manage it with mindfulness and grounding. Sounds stupid, but it seems to work. After some 'training' in it, I find I naturally resort to it when I'm starting to feel panic - and it's really helped.

Is your work stressful?

Re: How do you deal with...

Hiya @tyme,

Yes the trigger is heavy caffeine use i think. The problem is also i have multiple medications which provide flat coverage meaning the caffeine doesn't work...but then they wear off and all the caffeine is still there. The problem is that I am still flat, zombie like, I oscillate between panic and numb...like there's no colour in the world.... surviving not thriving..

And every time a new medication gets added or adjusted I dont seem to be getting any better or closer to well... like every medication step is one step further away..or backwards...

Good evening @Anonymouse1000 ,

Thinking of you. Have there been any developments since we last spoke?

I hope you are okay. I'm mindful how stressful last week was for you.
