Health

Hi I'm a newbie and am currently waiting for surgery. It took me over 8 months for someone to finally diagnose my problem which has given me health anxiety that I have been struggling with.

I'm trying my best to deal with it but the waiting to see the specialist again is really hard for me

Hello @Bucket and welcome to the forums ☺️.

Health anxiety can be really tough to manage and i can understand how waiting for a diagnosis would have brought it about. I'm glad you are waiting for surgery and I hope that all goes well for you.

Have you got anyone you can reach out to for some support around this maybe a counsellor or psychologist? You deserve to be supported through this challenging time and the community is here for you. Take care of yourself ❤️.

Thankyou. I do but I have to wait for a few weeks at a time to see them because I live in a rural area

Its Soo hard to even see the local doctor 😞. I'm waking up at 3 in the morning and don't know how to fix it

Re: Health

@Bucket waking up at 3 in the morning sounds so tough. I don't usually fall asleep until after 2.30am and then awake at all hours during the night. When you wake up do you try to go back to sleep? Maybe there's some strategies we could explore to help when you do wake up.

Hi @Bucket

sorry to hear you are having problems with sleeping. The only thing i can think of is something that relaxes you might help you get to sleep. I find when i cannot sleep i go on youtube on my phone and listen to rain sounds or relaxing meditations for anxiety with headphones. Doing some breath work until you feel calm or relaxed can help. Here's a breathing video i follow on youtube. I listen to them over and over until i fall asleep.
