Something’s not right

physical health has taken a nosedive and mental health still sucks

physical health has taken a nosedive and mental health still sucks

mental health spirals suck. i didnt think it could get any worse. but now i cant eat without my stomach acid literally trying to eat me from the inside out. and its resistant to every medication they've given me to the point where the hospital cant give me anything else, not even pain relief. im stuck on a waiting list for an endoscopy. all this while STILL dealing with my newfound death anxiety. im scared and stressed and in PAIN. i literally cant even drink water without severe stomach pain.

this sucks. i miss eating normally. i miss feeling normal.

That sounds incredibly intense to be dealing with @Invi. Being in constant pain, not being able to eat or even drink comfortably, and then having to wait for answers would be overwhelming for anyone. It also makes sense that your mental health is taking a hit alongside all of this. Dealing with ongoing physical symptoms and uncertainty can be really scary, especially with things like health anxiety on top. Missing feeling “normal” is such a real part of this too, I hear the exhaustion there. When your body isn’t cooperating, it can take away a sense of control and stability.
You've done so well to reach out for support despite feeling this way, doing so takes a lot of strength, I see you.
If these feelings get too heavy to carry alone, you can always reach out to your doctor, a psychologist or a counsellor. If you'd like to speak to someone sooner, you can reach out to Beyond Blue for 24/7 support.
Take care,

Hey @Invi

I am so sorry you're going through this right now. It sounds incredibly exhausting and, honestly, terrifying to feel like your body is working against you to this degree 💚

There is a very specific kind of helplessness that comes with being 'medication-resistant' and stuck on a waiting list. It's hard enough to manage mental health and anxiety on a good day, but when you can't even drink water without physical agony, it makes total sense that everything feels like it's spiralling. It is hard to feel grounded when your physical foundation doesn't feel safe.

Please know that it's okay to grieve that feeling of normalcy right now. Missing the simple ability to eat or feel comfortable in your own skin is a heavy burden.

We're all here to hold space for you. You don't have to 'tough it out' or have the right words here. We're all thinking of you and hoping that the endoscopy date comes much sooner than expected 💚

Hi @Invi,

hope you feel better soon. Has the hospital given you any Mylanta? That can sometimes help with

stomach acid to help cool it and help with stomach pain. If they haven't, you can ask them for it. If you

find that your anxiety is getting worse ask if you can speak to someone. Best wishes. I hope this gets

sorted for you shortly.
