Saying out loud

Thinking of accessing legal assistant's to start to deal with events that happened years ago trying to decide if it is worth while or just better to just move on.

Re: Saying out loud

Hey @Nw

I haven't sought legal representation for the events in my past, but I do know someone who has.

Please be advised that I don't know how much you've looked into it and I in no way want to dissuade you from seeking justice and healing through the means that are safest for you.

From what I understand it's important to weigh up the likelihood of a conviction or pay-out (depending on your circumstances) with the viability of evidence and/or witnesses given it is an historical event, and the importance of your personal growth and wellbeing. It is likely to be re-traumatising and taxing mentally and physically.

I would probably ask whether you are prepared to revisit the incident/s i.e. do you have a strong support system, coping strategies, personal emergency plan etc?

It's an incredibly brave thing to consider and I truly hope you can find the right way forward for you. 🤍

Re: Saying out loud

@Nw you have made me think of my own situation. i have apologised here some months ago which i thought was fitting however, i also have to live with my actions of many years ago. some of which i dont know tbh i can only guess because of what has been told to me by others... what merges into my memory and then fades away again. i have decided to say nothing more so that my closest dont get hurt. it would destroy those i love and for what point to get a weight off my chest? no far better it stays with me. it is something i live with daily and will so forever.
