Does Sane know

i) if there are comprehensive studies done on harms perpetrated on welfare checks, (worldwide or in Australia).

ii) specific studies done into deaths by police apprehension, whether during welfare checks or other circumstances.

My heart goes out to all involved including the dead young man and his mother.

Why cant they use tasers, or shoot them in the legs... eg., away from the torso,,,

To me, the reporting was a bit stigma dodgy, as it somehow implied to me that the person deserved death by virtue of having had mental health treatment.

Hey @Appleblossom it sounds like an truly awful event, I'm so sorry to read of it, and it makes sense that it's impacted you so deeply.

You know of SANE's StigmaWatch? You can anonymously report media coverage that is stigmatising of mental health - find it here. Every little bit counts 💜
