What a difference a week can make
Thank you to this community for allowing me to, and supporting me while I took up space here over the last week. It is something that I have been conditioned not to do and it has taken an effort on my end.
I have learnt about my self and also been able to release that internal pressure that grows as one expands in isolation.
This is an amazing space, one where we can practice getting and giving compassion. Empathy is like a muscle, if you exercise it, it grows, if you don't it diminishes. Also being compassionate in a world that looks to exploit more then assist is a revolutionary act. Also, um, also this is the reason people can view genuine compassion with suspicion, as they are trained to look for "the catch" as they are so used to being "had" by the world.
It is important to understand that giving compassion is an act of self-compassion. A way of controlling one's ego. How people react is just a by-product of the work we do on ourselves. I believe the energy you put into the world is the energy that ripples across the globe. You put fear and distrust i.e. hate into the world and that is what you create. Hate your enemy and you create more enemies.
I know this isn't an airport. One does not need to announce their departure but I didn't just want to drop off either.
I'll go out into the world and make some tweaks and adjustments to how I interact with it. I have no doubt there is "crisis" in my future and I will return to receive and give compassion again.
Or, maybe my compulsive nature will see me back here tomorrow. That's the fun part of my existence, who knows what I'll do next, certainly not me.
I'll check in at the end of the day and then be on my way.
Yours, in peace and strength
