Friday Coffee and Chat -- 6th March 2026

I am very lucky to have two good sized balconies, so I make the most of them. They are my happy place. I have a range of plants from Mandavilia's, succulents, Impatients, Bagonia's, ferns, Geranimum's Bagonia's and many more. About 40 all up and then some indoor as well.

I have a lot of free time so try to keep busy with hobbies. I am also learning guitar and just started creative writing again.

My whole apartment flooded mid January. I was very lucky not to be electrocuted. Now I am waiting on the rectification works to begin.

I am currently working on a floral piece. I have just started. I was working on swatches where you practice various stitches but found for some I could not find videos on how to do them and was getting frustrated. I have some more interesting designs I want to buy but I spend money like I have a trust fund so I will finish this one first. What are you working on? Have you been doing embroidery for long?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend with your Son. I had a lovely dinner with my two older brothers last night at a revolving restaurant in Sydney. It was lovely.

What sort of plants do you have? With all the extra growth, are you able to take cuttings or do you have enough?

I was taught embroidery when I was young by both my mum and nan. They both did it.

When my kids were young I gave it away. Just not enough time in the day to do it with young kids and a job!

I'm working on a butterfly at the moment. It is just a kit that I brought. I find it helps keep my mind busy and is a good distraction tool.

I've had only ONE coffee today @Shaz51 . I'm tempted to go buy a frappaccino, but I feel I'm spoiling myself @Chasingsunsets @Shaz51 @Snowie @Calamity @Appleblossom
