@Shaz51 I hope your diabetes symptoms have been manageable today. I know it’s a challenging condition to have to day in and out 💗

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 21st February 2026

Huh, that’s interesting @Shaz51 . I thought National Diabetes Services Scheeme was the main/primary support for diabetics in Australia 🤔. Because they will fund the cost of testing devices & consumables for diabetics. I just assumed NDIS would have declined funding for those consumables because NDSS is setup to provide it.

If my IR was diagnosed as “Type A insulin resistance” then I could get NDSS, but despite having all the symtoms & severity of Type A my doctor has never mentioned it to me - I only know of it because of the NDSS eligibility criteria lol. My IR is in the “severe” range already for the past 6 years since diagnosis. To diagnose Type A would require a genetic test. It’s considered “rare” so statistically unlikely I would have it, and probably why doctors have not tested for it. I guess I don’t know what would be done differently if I was diagnosed as Type A though! Treatment is the same.

Hi @Emelia8 , sorry to hear about the lack of sleep and the nightmares. I imagine that is exhausting?

I too dislike the heat and especially the humidity! Can’t wait for cooler autumn weather also

hi @Shaz51 , hope your weekend is going ok, been a bad and good one here, had to do some work on the shower, i had hot water going into the cold, not plesent on a 41 degree day. anyway i got it fixed. it was nice to have a icy cold shower.

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 21st February 2026

Oh, gosh @Jacques that would be frustrating not being able to have had a cool shower on a hot day! When I was in Indonesia last year it was hot enough that I didn’t want any hot water, and good thing i was at an eco-place because they had an on-demand hot water system so I could just turn on the water pump without turning on the heating! 😅

Did you fix it yourself?

If so - that’s a super handy skill to have!

What's for dinner tonight

In response to: Re: Saturday Soiree -- 21st February 2026

Re: Saturday Soiree -- 21st February 2026

I have some zucchini slice my mother made tonight @Shaz51 . But having to wait to eat it because I forgot to take my reflux/gerd medication earlier, so have to wait 30min after taking it before eating. I have too much pain to eat without first taking it, because I know it will make the pain even worse if i do. Stress aggravates the GERD to get worse I’ve noticed.
