Re: SAD carer

Hey @AntzyPantz welcome to the space! Glad to have you with us 😊

We have some how-to's here if you need, and there's a dedicated space for family and carers here. You're welcome to share as much or as little of your story as feels comfortable for you!

Let us know if there's anything in particular you are looking for (whether that's social connection, info and insight, or just a safe space to express yourself) and we will happily help you out. Glad you have decided to follow your whim! 😉

Re: SAD carer

Hey @AntzyPantz ,

Welcome to the forums! Great to have you with us!

Being a carer can be challenging at the best of times. It's certainly so important for carers to reach out as part of their own self-care.

When you posted SAD, do you mean schizoaffective disorder? Or Seasonal affective disorder?

I'll tag in @Shaz51 who is also a carer.

Re: SAD carer

Hey @AntzyPantz

Ive got no advice for you sorry but just welcoming you and saying that I watched the same show!

I really hope you find people to be able to give advice for you.

One thing I do know though is that you need to care for yourself. You need to look after yourself to be able to support your partner.

I have a mental illness myself but live alone and have no o e that really knows so I don’t have anyone close to care for me. Which is fine as I like if that way. But I know how demanding I would be if I did, I know that I would rely on them a lot. So I can only imagine as to what you are going through.

Also when responding if you put an @a drop down list will appear and the last posters user names will be there. Also if they aren’t you are able to type their user name and they will get a notification that you have responded like @Captain24

@Captain24 yes you are probably right in saying that ..go you for doing it alone ...that must be so challenging for you at times ..i know that my hubby probably couldn't manage without me micro managing his every day

Re: SAD carer

Welcome @AntzyPantz you have joined an awesome forum full of non judgemental, caring and supportive people.

I totally agree with @Captain24, an important part of being a carer is making sure that you also take care of you. That is very important.
