I hate sun
Absolutely detest sand. Especially after working in childcare and sandpits
I'm not a big fan of water
I can't swim
But the beach is my closest nature walk. So I walk on the beach every day at dawn. No traffic lights, nothing to break up walking in a straight line

I live 4 hours from the beach @Former-Member.
I am currently on holidays at the beach. I love the way it can make me feel. Usually it makes me feel relaxed and grounded. I love watching the waves roll in, I love being out in the waves and feeling the roll over me or me floating over the top of them.
i love going to the rock faces and watching the waves smash against them, especially when they are really rough. I have a very difficult relationship with my mother but we really connect at the rock faces which makes me feel like her and I can find something in life together. We only see it twice a year but stills it’s a little bit of connection that I think about when we aren’t here.
I don’t know if that’s what you are looking for but that’s way at the beach means to me.
If I lived closer I would be there more often.

I live in a regional area so that’s why it’s so far. @Former-Member.

It can be nice
It depends partly on what the sand is doing on a given day @Former-Member
If the tide has just gone out to low tide, or sometimes with rain, the sand can be more compact and easy to walk on
Long dry spells can make dry sand which you sink into substantially, which can really slow down the walk and/or cause ankle/leg strain

Hey @Former-Member ,
It's a random question, but defo a conversation starter 🙂
I LOVE the beach. I love the fresh salt air. I love walking along the beach in bare feet.
I don't even need to be swimming.
When I was really depressed and unwell, I would spend hours and hours sitting at the beach and just watching the waves move in and out. I found it super calming.
I don't go to the beach very often now as it's harder to access - it's a 30-40min drive. But when I was living in Sydney, I lived close to a beach so I was there a lot.
