Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

I’m seeing a psychologist but trying to manage thoughts of suicide

I’m seeing a psychologist but trying to manage thoughts of suicide

I’m really struggling with thoughts of suicide right now. I have a safety plan but I just don’t want to be here anymore. I told service/s how I feel and no one is taking it seriously unless I were to end up in hospital or something. I don’t really see a future

I hear you @sunlight2451,

This all sounds incredibly challenging right now, but I hope it helps to know that you are not alone - that our community are here and that we are so happy to support you throughout your recovery.

How are things feeling today? 🫶

Sorry I haven’t been on here in awhile. I applied for some government money. I don’t have a job or anything so I don’t have any money, do any places let people like me stay there?

I’m alright but still finding things really difficult because I don’t have any where else to live and no one in my real life is really listening to me

It's good to hear from you, @sunlight2451. No need to apologise for other things being the priority, over this space. We're glad to have you hear whenever it works for you.

Accommodation can be a hard nut to crack. If you haven't done so already, you might like to utilise the Ask Izzy website - a national database of community supports with links to food, housing, etc. Here's a link: https://askizzy.org.au/housing/

Hearing you on how difficult things are right now. Stay in touch with us here. It helps to share. We are listening to you.

I am losing motivation on to find energy to continue looking for jobs and take care of myself and it’s especially hard during neurodivergent burnout.

I’ve had a look at Ask Izzy and I have looked at housing places but nothing so far has suited me or I need money to be able to live there.

Good evening @sunlight2451 💛

I completely hear you on the neurodivergent burnout front... it must be so exhausting having to take care of yourself, as well as having to look for stable work and housing. It's a lot for the body to hold at once, hey? I know you said that you have been able to access goverment money, which is really positive! I am curious to know if you have looked into chatting with Centrelink's social worker too? They may be able to support you in navigating your house search. Let me know your thoughts on this. ☺️

Not sure about the social worker thing. Also I have applied for government money I haven’t gotten any yet which might take awhile. I just need a break from my parents cause my anxiety has been really high today.

I hear you @sunlight2451. Needing your home to feel grounded and regulating is more than understandable.

What could a break from your parents look like tonight?

Is there somewhere safe you could go for a little bit or something you can do for yourself that may be soothing? 🫶

The best thing I ca do is try to wear my headphones and stay in my room at my parents place. There’s no where really I can go

Hey @sunlight2451 just wanted to check in on how things are feeling today? Were you able to get a break from your parents, even if it was just being in the other room?

I have gotten a break from my parents in another room which is good but I'm still not doing great
