Thank you Everyone

Thank you Everyone

@Appleblossom @Shaz51 @utopia @Faith-and-Hope @Zoe7 @Heart @Phoenix_Rising @Former-Member

@Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @Pepsimax @Former-Member @BlueBay

Hi guys

i created a new thread so not to trigger anyone and not to override your post @Zoe7

Firstly thank you for all your support over today and last night and being concerned. i did ring a hotline today (suicideline). im sure they are sick of hearing from me by now.

it has been a massive night and day starting with a trigger post and things just kept pileing up one thing after another.

the forums were just too hard to be on for the past day and i just needed to distance myself for abit.

I thought i had supports off the forum besides my gp and psych but i havent. my family isnt supporting me now and the two friends that i did have have split the scene. (they were friends before i came into the pciture so kinda expected). like a chain reaction.

@Zoe7 - my 'guardian angel' thank you for all your hugs and kind words and thinking im resilient.. you are such a beautiful, caring person and i appreciate it

@Former-Member - i was stupid enough not to call the helplines last night but i pretty much forced myself to ring them today. thank you for sticking around last night. greatly appreciated.

@Faith-and-Hope - i really appreciate you help. Zoe was right about you. i did get in contact with a helpline just not straight away like i should have.

@Former-Member- thank you for taking the time to help me out today. i really appreciate it.

I cant remember the rest or find if anyone else said anything so i hope i tagged everyone....

i really appreciate all your help. im still not back to whether id like to be so i might not be around the forums as much as id like to but ill be around is anyone needs me esp all of you, so dont hesitate to tag me in things if you need me ok ?

i really cant express how much i really appreciate you guys being there for me. i could feel all your 'hugs' coming through the screen as i was reading through the comments.

i didnt want to come on here earlier in case i came across another trigger, even unintentionally so i thought it would be safer to stay distant.

i also didnt want to come on here and set anyones triggers off, nor upset anyone and i didnt want to offend anyone through the day for any reason.

i wont tell you everything that happened today as itll be triggering for many of you if not all depending on sensitivity to certain things. but i can tell you ther were many things that were happening and none of them were good (i thought i was going to end up in hospital last night and today up until about 5pm) ive just started to clam down now. i hope this doesnt set anyones triggers off at all. please let me knoe if it does and ill edit so i leave that part out ok? i wont be offended, not in the slightest

i think part of the reason i pulled through today was because of you guys. i could 'feel' your support even the minor ones. so THANK YOU!!!!

I honestly cant express that enough.

Re: Thank you Everyone

That's "Carer's guilt" @Former-Member and technically you were still a child, and it shouldn't have been yours to carry .... it's the same any time a child is shouldering more responsibility that childhood ought to be placing on them .... it was something the same for my WH, only he was like the head of his family when he was still a child, helping his family unit to cope when his parents were not able to fulfil their role as parents in the true sense ....

His dad provided and income, and his mum worked too, and kept the house, but emotionally, neither of them were there for him in a parent-child relationship. The father was emotionally absent from the family and the marriage, and the mother became emotionally dependent on the kids in a role reversal of a child-like parent. Both the parents had suffered emotional trauma from war experiences growing up, and I didn't know, as young as I was, that we would suffer the effects of that going forward.

Now it's clear to see that even if he had been an adult carer, it is very, very important to live something of your own life around the carer role, and balance the two, or otherwise you suffer "Carer's burnout". Clever you ....❣.... as young as you were .... you were actually following your instincts and doing some of the things you needed to do for yourself to stop that from happening. If you had reached burnout, who would have been there for your nan and pop ?? You clever little caterpillar !!

Yes, it can be hard to wrestle with Carer's guilt, but you really must put it down in order to be a more effective carer. The time you are spending here in this beautiful garden creativity is doing wonders to recharge your batteries .... and that is so, so important for going the long distance.

Believe me, I know what I am talking about.

And creativity helps to feed others around you .... it's a positive charge instead of a negative drain.

Re: Thank you Everyone

Aww thank you @Faith-and-Hope i never really saw it as that all i could think was what i did wrong what i ahould have changed or what i could have done better. I know you know what your talking about ❤❤. I do quite like doing the art and spending time here in mt garden. ❤❤
How do u wrestle with the guilt? Does it get easier?

In response to: Re: Thank you Everyone

Re: Thank you Everyone

I don't wrestle with guilt now @Former-Member .... because I know that if I don't take care of me, then I become one who needs to be cared for and lose my carer ability .... and I am the only available carer in our situation. If I go down, we all go down .....

That makes it imperative that I take time out for myself.

Before finding the forums I was really feeling stuck about that. Going and simply doing things by myself, for myself, like my riverside walks, or prioritising having a coffee out in a coffee shop was one thing, but I really needed to connect with people who understand how much I am hurting on the inside .... people I could cry with .... and in our state, and under our circumstances, that can't happen with the relationships around me to the degree I need it to, until we have a diagnosis over my hubby and everything is out in the open.

Its a tightrope walk for me irl .... but not here. Here I can tell it like it is and work with that reality.

I just had the water supply people turn up to restrict water to our property over unpaid bills. It's okay .... the bill will get paid today when I make him aware that it has come to that .... but I have to wait for him to wake up in his different time zone because he is so exhausted and needs to sleep ... so you can start to see how I am a carer to him to be able to look after the rest of us .... and I have to help look after my adult kids who are at home and suffering situational depression .... and then my D2 has an intellectual and physical disabilities so I am a full-time carer for her too.

That might sound like a lot to contend with, but if you just stay in the moment and take it step by step, it's okay .... far from ideal, but doable.

Really really freaking out!!!!
We are getting a massive pour down and storms
Number 1 storms set my anxiety off. Big time!!!! @utopia could be doing alot of tpir breathing exercise
number 2 im scared we are going to be on edge of flood evacuation again

Re: Thank you Everyone

@Former-Member. Breathe. ... 3 big deep breaths ....
Really focus on those breaths.
Is your pop home? Is he worried about flooding? Is anyone else worried about flooding? That's a great way to sort out if your worries are realistic or not.
If there is a risk of flooding occuring - follow your flood plan.
If there is little chance of flooding - continue to focus on your breath for a few minutes. As you start feeling a little more relaxed or less anxious - go and do something else. Distractions. Turn up your music. Dance. Drum along with your hands to the music.
