No need to apologise, thank you for sharing, that takes a lot of courage. It sounds like you have been dealing with quite a bit. I would encourage you to reach out and talk with your psychologist and if you would like to reach out to the lines you mentioned, they also have some brief counselling that is free and very available. I am so incredibly sorry to hear about everything you and your husband are going through right now. It is completely understandable that you feel overwhelmed and at your limit. When we face a medical crisis on top of family conflict and financial strain, it is natural for our minds and bodies to react strongly.

Regarding your Husband's health, it is such a relief to hear that the injection will be bulk-billed. Medical costs are a huge burden, and I'm glad that this financial barrier has been removed so he can get the urgent care he needs. It's a lot to process, having his sight at risk and losing the ability to drive at night, and it makes sense that he is trying to stay "stoic", even though it's unfair that he's in this position.

Another point I wanted to say is that please try to be gentle with yourself. When we are under extreme stress or going through major life changes, our brain can sometimes struggle to cope. Hearing voices can also be quite frightening, but please do not be afraid to tell your psychiatrist. Psychiatrists are there to help you find the right balance of support, not to judge or punish you for your symptoms. Being honest about what you are experiencing is the best way to ensure your medication and treatment plan are actually working for you. It is a strength to report these changes early.

As for contacting helplines, whether you decide to call Lifeline (13 11 14) or Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636), please know that they are very used to calls like yours. They won't judge you for being angry or for the message you left your brother. They are just there to listen, help you breathe, and keep you safe until your psychologist gets back to you. You don't need to have a "plan" for the call; you can literally start off by saying, "I'm just having a hard time, and I need someone to talk to".

I am so glad you have your iced latte (I love an iced matcha latte myself), your music, and your colouring. Those small moments of breathing space are vital right now. Focus on just getting through the next hour, and then the hour after that.
