Sorry @Blackcloud , I was quite flatout last night until 1am and forgot. My brain has been not great in remembering more than one or two things at a time. I am interested to go back and read what you wrote originally about that experience, I must not have seen it. I have been trying to use my email notifications the past few weeks to check posts that I was tagged in, but my (yahoo) email app has been buggy and sometimes doesn't load emails and then I check later and there are 20 emails for days ago that weren't there before...! It's not been working very well and I have been missing a number of tags I am discovering. 😥.

I am sorry that you have received racist and unkind comments, and prejudice and assumptions. You do not deserve that. I wonder what "yin and yang" meant to him? 🤔 Just something he associated with Chinese/Asian heritage??

I am curious what is represents for you @Blackcloud , as you chose it for you pic currently. Is it a positive reclamation of your heritage? A reminder of cosmic balance and creation? Or a reminder of the racist man who did not give you the respect you deserve? ... or other?

I love being able to know people from a range of backgrounds and cultures. 😊 I find it interesting, educational, and beneficial. I never feel I "fit" with the individualistic western society focused on wealth; but when I see/experience other cultures which place higher value on community and connection I feel more "at home" in their framework and feel encouraged that it is OK to value those things more - that its not a "problem" with me, it's just that perhaps I am living in the wrong cultural bubble.

I thought him saying that phrase specifically was racially motivated because he did say other rude/insulting things to me that I didn’t catch before he came up with that one. It made me uncomfortable the whole time so obviously I had to get away from him in that moment. I guess yin and yang to him means that it’s just something that is associated with the Chinese/Asian heritage as you said. and yes, the profile pic of the yin and yang I have is more of a reminder of that d*ckhead that didn’t seem to give me the respect I deserve like I don’t know who hurt him…the fact he chose to target minorities especially people he sees that aren’t able to fight back makes me wish that I could say something back to him in a rude way (in other words, fight back lol
