Nightmares and fear are like that eh - doesn't matter what we may be told, we can still feel like it feels true because of the anxiety. @Former-Member
I had nightmares as a child and into my teen years. Slowly they became less common and noe they are rare, thankfully.
I wasn't scared of "monsters" per se, i was scared someone was waiting to hurt/kidnap me. 🥺. Sometimes when I am home alone and I hear the trees moving outside (from the wind :face_with_rolling_eyes:) I still get that feeling of being in edge and worried someone might be there to hurt me - esp if my dogs start barking at it too!!
Its the only time i feel anxiety, and thankfully it is rare, and i logically know its not reality and keep telling myself that.
Its funny, but until i read your post i had forgotten that i do get anxiety a bit in that situation!! 😅
I generally consider myself as someone without anxiety.
