Awwww that's awesome you have your holiday planned out to see friends and travel interstate .

Yeah Australia isn't much , it's just the greatest island on the plant 😄

I'm sure you can sing , your just being modest 😊

@MJG017 for me singing is a medication , that no doctor can prescribe .

Because singing comes from within me , where my heart and soul lives .

With feeling and emotions that walks hand in hand .

I definitely agree and understand that feeling of getting close to people , and in my case not making the right choices and being lost and hurt alone the way .

I wear my heart on my sleeve and because of my past experiences I've become over sensitive .

Or hyper sensitive as I've been told , witch some times on some days .

Anything and everything can effect me in a way , as my self control takes over .

To guard my well being and mental health .

So far I feel comfortable taking to all of the beautiful people in this community .

Wise man once said to me

Live a life of happiness

Take the emotional days as a reminder

Think of a future , for filament

And never stop loving who you are 😊

Well this man certainly seems very wise... definitely words to live by.

Yes, I'm really looking forward to this trip next month. It should be an awesome time. I went earlier in the year, but this time I'm there for longer so there's more time for my friend to show me some of the sights. I'm just really looking forward to having a great time with some great people. I need a bit of a break from mt life here so it should be an awesome holiday in so many ways.

Being over sensitive makes complete sense if you've been hurt or had your trust broken in the past. The mind will try to protect us and it will find ways. The trick is to know when those protections start to become detrimental. I fell into that for a long, long time. It's tricky to see what is good for us a lot of the time, especially mentally. That's really how this place started me on the path of seeing what helped me and what didn't. Just reaching out and connecting with people who understood a lot of the stuff I was dealing with. It helped me to understand myself better... and to learn to start forgiving myself and ultimately learning to step out of that tiny comfort zone that had been home for most of my life. It's has been amazing how helpful just connecting with people who 'get it' can be. Like everything worth doing, it's rarely easy and is rarely quick.

Oh, and no... I really can't sing. A note to me, is a few words on a piece of paper. 😁 I believe words like tone deaf have been used in the past. But who cares. I listed to music for better times and it just takes me back there for a few minutes and if I sing along and butcher it... it doesn't matter. It's how it feels. As that wise men said, "Live a life of happiness." (even if completely off-key 😂 )

My grandparents owned a unit in Surfers Paradise when they were alive, and we went there a couple of times. I was in year 4 and year 6 the times we went. So it would have been 1978 and 1980. Those were the two times I've been to Queensland. It may have been a long time ago, and I was very young... but I loved it up there. It was like perfect weather every day. That's what I remember anyway. I've never really traveled very much. Excluding those two trips to Queensland, I've been to Melbourne twice. Canberra once, Perth once (about to be twice), and travelled through NSW twice getting to QLD and ACT. All of this has been in the past 4 or 5 years. So I don't seem to get out of South Australia very much. I've seen videos of the Daintree, and it look amazing! I would love to visit there.

It's a pity I can't upload an audio file here to prove that I can't sing. I think you'd then have to agree with me. 😆

Hello 👋

I'm sorry to hear about the of your parents 😔

I'm a born and bread Aussie

Yes to the Daintree and Port Douglas

There pretty much right beside each other .

There's a river that separates them , witch the barge connects to and from .

I haven't been as yet , but it's in my bucket list .

As for singing , you don't singing perfectly .

I started out singing soft to begin with .

Or tho now , after 5 years practicing on and off .

I'm just loud and proud .

From anything like

Rob Thomas

Ed Sheeran

Belinda Carlisle

Australia crawl

Mark Wallen

Garth Brooks

George strait

Metallica

And much much more 😁

Off to sleep very shortly

I wish you a great night @MJG017

I was reading through your list of artists you like to sing to and i'm thinking we have very different tastes... I'm more into classic rock and metal. Then I saw you listed Metallica at the end. I was not expecting that. Then I just picture you at home belting out Master of Puppets or Enter Sandman. 😀 Now that would be loud and proud! Now the "much much more" intrigues me. 🤔 I must admit, one of my favourites to sing along to in the car is Cat Stevens. I'm partial to a bit of Creedence as well. Probably showing my age a bit now. 😁
