Oh that's great! How was your psychologist appointment? @Rosepetal96

Yay! How are you feeling about returning to work?

And I completely hear you, but you absolutely deserve compassion because it's really vulnerable being in a position where we have experienced trauma. I understand why shame might be coming up for you, but I promise that you are not alone. 💖

@AuntGlow , I think the psychologist appointment went ok, I learnt a breathing exercise I've been trying to practice in times I'm not super anxious,

And I am really looking forward to going back to work to be honest, I miss the consistency of the routine and the additional socialisation benefits

@AuntGlow I think you are spot on with the trauma element. I believe I have been caught in fight or flight since that tacchycardia/near faint/ shaking/ episode as a result of my low iron leading to the emergency trip to hospital via ambulance (that would make two trips in the span of three months, thank goodness for ambulance cover).

Knowing the hospital couldn't give me answers had me constantly frightened it would happen again even though they ruled out any significant causes and treated my fever with iv fluids and medicine.

It was my gp who discovered my ferratin was extremely low 5 after he ordered a full blood count, diabetes, thyroid all those sorts of things, and although I know this is why and I will be getting an infusion on Wednesday. I have still been stuck in this loop of anxiety. This is almost 3 weeks ago the incident occurred now.

Anyways, I've resumed therapy and had medicine adjusted and commenced a regular sleep schedule all to help support me, and maybe the past 2 days were great, but today I was there again... and the incident happened at dinner time when I was waiting for food, so I constantly feel on edge at that time ...

For example tonight I was out for Mexican wirh my fiance and as I was eating my meal I felt so tense and anxious, like I was getting those palpitations again..

Excuse the long ramblings, but you definitely mentioned something that resonated with me and helped me sort of put my thumb on why I might be spiralling

How you are feeling and have responded is so, so understandable, lovely. Health stuff is scary - especially when professionals can't give us answers. I have been there and it's truly terrifying. @Rosepetal96

I am so glad your GP is thorough and attentive, it must have been hugely relieving to have answers. But of course, very human to still feel anxious.

It's tricky, because anxiety can bring about similar symptoms, can't it?

When do you notice you feel the most safe in your body? And can you connect to that person, place, or thing throughout the next couple of days? 🫶

Re: Wednesday Coffee and Chat -- 17th December 2025

I am trying my best @AuntGlow , I had a few anxious moments during the infusion and they settled a little this afternoon. However, again I am bawling my eyes out grieving the better self I was before all of these health issues.

I feel most myself when I am connecting with my niece, at work with the kids or in a reformer pilates class, with two elements paused because of the injury, but I feel like those elements will be resumed soon.

I'll return to work on the 7th and I'm hoping to talk to my instructor about a modified resumption of classes from next year.

I feel that my anxiety is getting in the way of everything. I feel like a burden on everyone, my friends, my family, my partner. It's horrible. I know it's my mental health giving me these thoughts but gosh they're hard to shake

Re: Wednesday Coffee and Chat -- 17th December 2025

I completely understand why this would be coming up for you @Rosepetal96. Anxiety is complex and health concerns make it even more complex. I encourage you to consider this mantra over the next couple of weeks: "where can I soften into self-compassion?"

And just see how that feels/lands.

It seems like connecting to other people, especially kids, is really helpful for you.

So maybe exploring what makes that feel good in your body will provide some insight too?

I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow. I will talk to you very soon. 💖
