Guess I'm rehoming my dog. I can't look after her anymore. I'm too sick and I don't want to be here.

No help. No God.

Re: Plans

Hey there @Trissy71,

Making the decision to re-home your dog couldn't have been an easy one 😔 It sounds like you're feeling too overwhelmed and don't feel like you have the capacity to look after them at this point.

It sounds like it might be really important to have some extra supports around you at the moment, not just to help with looking after your dog, but also for you to be able to get the support you need 🍀

It's really concerning that you've been feeling sick and that you're also not wanting to be around. We're going to send you an email to check-in, so please check your inbox soon!

In the meantime, we hope the community can give you some helpful words, and that you're spending some time taking care of yourself tonight!

I'm so sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I know how you feel I've been sick for 4 years and 2 years ago my nephew got a puppy and has been with me ever since. I know it's hard rehoming your baby might be the worst thing to do right now...I know I would be lost without my boy as much as he does my head in HE IS MY LIFE...NOT MY ILLNESS.. keep strong my friend....

Hey @Trissy71 , just seen your new thread now - i wish i was available when you posted. Feel free to tag me in your posts if you my chatting/responding is helpful or even just for distraction chats or if you just want to ensure someone reads and responds (once i see it!).

You've been having a really low time lately. I wish I could help somehow. I'm concerned for you in a caring and friendly way.

I understand the inability to care for pets when not well. I have 2 dogs myself and sometimes looking after them can be overhwhelming.

Sometimes adoptive owners are happy to keep in contact and let you still visit the animal if ypu wanted to.

Another consideration is whether someone would be willing to temporarily foster your dog until you are again able to lool after it. Dog rescue organisations may be able to help find trustworthy foster homes.

How are you feeling about the idea of finding a new home for your dog?

Is it relief, or despair, or a bit of both, or something else?
