Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 5th December 2025

Thanks @Ramman
I had a degree from 2001. I worked professionally in a good job for about 8 years and had a sense of pride and confidence. Then I had kids and because a wife and business partner. And now that job is almost over (doesn't pay) I had to start over. It's just really hard. I never expected this.

@Ramman It is a luxury to WFH
Not being able to WFH was a reason I had to leave my previous career. Working with a baby under the desk is really hard but if flexible and supported it can be done and done well.
Glad your crisis is through.

Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 5th December 2025

@Shaz51 Could you go to the Christmas fair with a neighbour or friend?
I missed out on my towns Christmas fair last night. I had nobody to go with and I had been crying all day. I got into a state of anger and really upset with everyone, not very Christmassy!.
I ended up with chocolate and 2 movies on SBS. I may repeat tonight.
Not getting any uni done again, it's stressful. Complete Uni paralysis here and will continue for the weekend. I don't know how to snap out of it.
I better get offline and go for a walk.
Tc

Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 5th December 2025

Hey @Messylife lovely to meet you and read your post from today's Coffee and Chat. Last week I had tears for five days heavily - reads like a weather forecast 🤣 and then after some other things shifted a little I found it was only a few "showers" and a drop or two. I found the tears were needed for me, there was pent up emotion that needed release.

As for where my partner and I went - to the local pool for a tiny paddle, homemade sandwiches and tossing of a ball. It was a simple outing, the first since my partner's discharge from hospital, and a good way to test energy levels and remind us both that we are trying to support one another.

@Shaz51 how lovely to hear your town has a Christmas night tonight downtown. At the moment we aren't up to much as partner also struggling with too many people and things being too loud. We may instead find a park and hang up hammocks, or maybe do some watercolor for handmade Christmas cards. Hope your MIL 91st birthday lunch tomorrow is enjoyable for all 💚

Re: Friday Coffee and Chat -- 5th December 2025

@Shaz51 thanks for tag!! and great question @Messylife 😊

for me, tears do help! it might sound odd but i try to create a proper time/space to release the tears fully. i find that when i get a chance to have a proper, uninterrupted cry, i feel a lot better afterward. i do get tired though, so i try to stay hydrated and take a nap/rest up if i need to.

do you feel better after a cry sesh?
