Self care by growing a garden

Self care by growing a garden

A SOS to any green thumbs out there

I have always found gardening to be therapeutic and it has given me great joy. However, after a major crisis with Mr Darcy's health I have not had been able to get back into it. Have other gardeners suffered from a similar hiatus and how have you recovered and got going again?

Darcy

PS have a spot that needs filling any recommendations for a 1m high cool climate white flower plant?

@Determined, I've got some lilies on the way, but they're not quite up to flowering yet. 🙂
I uncovered the tamarillo plant that I encased in fibreglass sheet and shadecloth over winter. It has heaps of new shoots on it. Maybe fruit this year! 😄

Hubby did a great job of keeping up the water while I was away. I came home to flowers everywhere. They're my living "birthday pressie", because I bought them with last year's birthday and Christmas pressie money.

Loving your pictures @Determined @Smc

Our lilliums have buds too, still a little way off flowering.

Mr Darcy mowed today.

I intended to enter this into a photo comp but when I was looking at all of the entries yesterday realised that I uploaded the wrong pic, same flower but wrong version

Love the lighting and water in this pic. I have it as the backdrop on my PC screes as I find it calming

@Adge the garden is my darlings thing, I just like to take photos.

Darling knows what everything is but I'm a bit challenged when it comes to naming plants. Since we have had some rain her garden is really alive with colour which makes darling happy.

I'm glad @Determined My garden & flowers makes me happy too - when I actually spend time out in it.

My neighbours are so noisy (screaming, loud music, banging things) - that I don't feel comfortable in my own backyard.

It's as if the neighbours have taken over my own private space (with constant noise).

I jus did a re-check - I do have one Mauve/Purple flowered Alstromeria (Princess Lilly) left.

It's spread out to cover about one metre wide.

It was the lovely Orange-flowered one that I lost.
