Self care by growing a garden

Self care by growing a garden

A SOS to any green thumbs out there

I have always found gardening to be therapeutic and it has given me great joy. However, after a major crisis with Mr Darcy's health I have not had been able to get back into it. Have other gardeners suffered from a similar hiatus and how have you recovered and got going again?

Darcy

PS have a spot that needs filling any recommendations for a 1m high cool climate white flower plant?

Hi @Shaz51 ,

That sounds great!

I worked hard chopping back my asparagus and weeded the rest of the veggie patch last weekend. This weekend is all about cooking for me. Loving using my home grown herbs in my sausage rolls.

My gardening now limited to a little maintenance, giving away potted plants that I don't want to take with me and deciding what cuttings/divisions I can take with me when we move.

What herbs to you have @Sheila ?

Not sure if I should take a bit of horseradish with me. Have not used what I have grown but have been enjoying using home grown rosemary and sage.

@Shaz51 ,

I have basil, parsley, coriander, and chives at the momemt.🌱 Just used the parsley this time. Reviews were good, even though i overfilled the sausage rolls and they kind of burst! 😂

Hi @Former-Member , its very satisfying isnt it? I haven't grown horseradish either. I try to grow the things I use a lot. Have parsley, basil, coriander, and chives at the moment.It must be hard deciding what to take with you. Hope you have a good day.

Flavour is the main thing @Sheila and it sounds like the sausage rolls went down a treat.

Won't be able to take too many plants @Sheila due to limited space in car but hoping to take a bundle of small divisions from some favourite perennials. Move is interstate and chattels will be in a shipping container for at minimum a week - I believe too long for plants without sunlight, but having said that I could dig up some summer flowering bulbs that are well and truly dormant that would not be affected by the dark.
