Partner with Psychosis
Hi All, im new here and really not sure where to go or who to look for advice. My partner and the father of my twins (8 months) and our baby which is due in March has had an acute psychosis episode for the 1st time he was hospitalised involuntarily and still believes nothing is wrong with him and he is totally normal and that he has been set up. He was hospitalised for 2 weeks and just come out a few days ago.
TW: Details of delusions/hallucinations
Because of these thoughts he has refused any of my support, wouldn't sign any consent for me at the hospital so i have no idea about treatment and recovery, has moved out of our house and is now living with friends leaving me with the rent, caring for our dogs, our home, our twins all whilst being 6months pregnant. Im devastated, confused, lost, the days feel unbearable i miss my best friend. I honestly dont know how i can support him while he keeps saying i dont trust you and is afraid of me. I guess what i want to know is this normal? Will he ever return to himself, me and our family? How am i supposed to live like this with all this responsibility while hes not here and not himself? Is it normal for the delusions to still be so strong? I think I'm just looking for some hope. How did partners dealing with psychosis eventually get back in to support their person? Thank you for reading
