Struggling with loneliness and relationship stress

Struggling with loneliness and relationship stress

Hi everyone,

I’m struggling a lot right now and just need to reach out to people who might understand. I feel extremely emotionally alone in my life. I moved far away from anyone I know, and I don’t have family or friends nearby. My partner doesn’t support me emotionally I do most of the work in our relationship and at home, and I feel like my efforts and feelings are invisible.

I’m trying to stay sober and take care of myself, but I feel isolated and like no one is really there for me. I don’t have anyone I can turn to when I feel sad or overwhelmed. I guess I’m just looking for people who have felt similarly, and maybe some advice on how to cope when you feel so alone emotionally.

Thanks for reading.

@Shaz51 monsoon season is soo humid 🥵

@TeaPositive it took me a while to meet knew people when I moved interstate also. I kept in touch with friends too, but of course they slowly stop contacting as much as life gets busier.

Hope you find some good connection online here @Unknowncaller

Hi @Shaz51 @Unknowncaller @TeaPositive @tyme ,

I'm just settling down now to rest for the afternoon after having done my errands this morning. Can't believe it is already after 4pm here! I have to rest up and try to get rid of the last of my cold symptoms before Monday or I have to cancel an appointment I have (need to be symptom-free for it). ...If I cut off my nose, it can't accumulate any more gunk can it? 🤣 Maybe that is the solution lol. (joking!)

Hi @AlwaysMyself @Shaz51 @Unknowncaller @TeaPositive @tyme today has been a little better despite shocking sleep. After a mini-meltdown yesterday I realised coming here to the forums was one way I could connect and feel less alone.

Thank you to all who read / respond / 'like' 💜

Re: Struggling with loneliness and relationship stress

An inch better is still better, eh @TeaPositive . Although I do wish for you some good quality sleep tonight and some better mood/etc for your peace of mind. Is sleep often a difficult thing for you? do you know why it's being poorer currently?

I had notoriously bad sleep all through high school - because of depression distress mostly. Often only 4-6 hours. I had both insomnia not getting to sleep, but also the waking at regular intervals throughout the night (hourly!). When I got chronic fatigue I found it easier to fall asleep earlier most of the time (but man some night are still sooo bad), but the regular waking did not improve. ..then many many years later in my late 20's I had a sleep apnea test -- game changer. Now I only wake due to physical pain/stiffness, then I roll over / reposition and fall asleep again. SO much better now, even though I do still get some insomnia occasionally.
