Travel Photos

Rather than hunt through for the previous travelling thread, I've decided to just start a new one. I would also of course welcome anyone else to post their own holidays snaps too!

Tagging a few people - but please do not feel you cannot participate if you are not tagged, of course you can! 😍😊

Re: Travel Photos

The Komodo Dragon was indeed Indonesia @TAB ; some of the other photos are also, whilst others are from Malaysian Borneo, and the frogs are from Bali lol.

Re: Travel Photos

@Dimity absolutely. I've been wanting to see Borneo island and also Komodo for 15 years since I learned about some of their wildlife. And I've always felt the time pressure to see them "sooner rather than later" in case the deforestation progresses.

The good news is that eco-tourism is becoming popular in the areas (especially Borneo), which helps incentivise the government to protect the remaining forests and also to re-forest areas that were previously cleared.

It was interesting driving through some of the palm plantations and I did learn a little about the improvements that the change to sustainable palm industry has had. They even train the workers in what to do if they come across wildlife - to protect both the wildlife and themselves from conflict.

What an utterly random tag

I've lived in 3 states. But holidays? I used to visit dad in Casterton as a kid. I holidayed to Lake's Entrance once around the turn of the century. I've been to Sydney and Brisbane for work

Re: Travel Photos

@DogMan79 sorry if you wish you were not tagged - I can remember this for the future. It is OK to ignore the thread if it is not interest. Travel is my main 'interest', along with animals - hence my travels often involve viewing wildlife.

I had to look up where Casterton was 😋. I know of Lake's Entrance, but I have never been there; apparently I have some family heritage from that region though.

What do you like to do in your time when not working/studying/etc and well enough to? 😊
