All Things Sport...

All Things Sport...

There are many threads dedicated to sharing experiences - good times and not so good - so I thought I would start a thread for those on here who love their sport. For me - and I suspect for some others - sport is a good distraction as it often blocks out the more negative emotions and helps to avoid triggers that many other things in 'life' so often seem to do.

This thread can also be a place where like-minded (and not so like-minded people @utopia @Former-Member @Zoe7 lol) can 'discuss/debate' their respective competitions in their preferred sport(s).

For those that are definitely NOT into sport @Phoenix_Rising for example - avoid this thread at all costs - whoops just tagged you in..........hahaha!!!!!

Re: All Things Sport...

Hi to all the sports lovers out there @Zoe7 @MDT @Shaz51 @-xlilithx- and anyone else happy to join in.

Zoe I hope you are able to watch your beloved Parra Eels tonight as they take on the Rabbitohs. Rabbits are my brothers team, so I have mixed allegiances here, as the Eels are my son in laws team. And yours too of course. Yeah ... thats decided it ... I'll barrack for your Eels. My Raiders play Bulldogs tomorrow night, and I'm hoping they can turn their past couple of defeats around. Though they are missing a few players due to injury and State of Origin duties. Could be tough.

And your Brissy Lions play against Hawthorn tomorrow night I think. Hamsolo and my Swannies play Geelong tomorrow arvo. I think Geelong will be too strong for the Swans, but it would be good to see them put up a good fight. Your Lions I reckon will beat Hawthorn, at least I hope so. It was a pretty heartbreaking loss by your boys in the final seconds (or after the bell actually) to lose by a solitary point.

Has anyone been watching the cricket lately? I saw some of the opening World Cup match between England and South Africa yesterday. I think the Aussies play tomorrow night. Should win it easily. Good to see Smithy playing well.\

How about the French Open Tennis? Ashley Barty is doing pretty well and is now through to the 3 round.

Thinking of you @Zoe7 and I hope you got through your days work okay. I trust that you can have a restful weekend and have a chance to recover from the pain of your infected teeth, and to contemplate your options around other things too.

Re: All Things Sport...

Hi @Zoe7 ... well ... for me at least ... the winning ways have continued into the weekend.

My Raiders won their NRL clash, then Ash Barty and Dylan Alcott won championships in the tennis overnight. And wow ... Zoe did you see my Swans fly in this afternoons game against the reigning premiers West Coast Eagles? They were fantastic! Truly ... gosh what a form turnaround. @MDT @Shaz51 ... you're Swans supporters ... did you watch the game? I was very impressed. Especially when the Swans were down to only one man left on the interchange bench before half time. They lost 3 players to injury in the first half. They not only held on, but actually increased their lead in the second half. So good. I have renewed hope now that the Swans could even just scrape into the finals playoffs at the end of the season.

My Brumbies beat the NSW Waratahs in the Rugby too.

Now ... all I need to complete an almost perfect sports weekend is for the Aussie cricketers to beat the very much in-form India in the World Cup series about to start in an hour or so.

Hey Zoe ... how did you go with your giraffe collection and dog minding at your parents today?

Sherry 😊🎉🎉

Re: All Things Sport...

Yes I agree @MDT . The soccer girls would be disappointed with their performance I suspect. Too many missed opportunities. And the Aussie cricket team lost to a very good Indian team in the World Cup cricket overnight too.
