All Things Sport...

All Things Sport...

There are many threads dedicated to sharing experiences - good times and not so good - so I thought I would start a thread for those on here who love their sport. For me - and I suspect for some others - sport is a good distraction as it often blocks out the more negative emotions and helps to avoid triggers that many other things in 'life' so often seem to do.

This thread can also be a place where like-minded (and not so like-minded people @utopia @Former-Member @Zoe7 lol) can 'discuss/debate' their respective competitions in their preferred sport(s).

For those that are definitely NOT into sport @Phoenix_Rising for example - avoid this thread at all costs - whoops just tagged you in..........hahaha!!!!!

LOL Zombie flies ...now that is a scary proposition

McDermott and Wright out now - up to George to get it done in his last home game. Love George - my favourite ever Hurricane/Tassie player

Fur babies are good. Toby decided it wasn't good enough supervising me sort of the few posters I have but wanted to roll around on top of them and play chasings - he loves anything shiny so it was a smorgasboard of fun for him.

Cat is outside but will be back in for her night biscuits soon - I'll give them both a cuddle from Auntie Scarecrow

Re: All Things Sport...

Wow that's awesome that your sister represented state, @Zoe7! I just run as a hobby because it helps me clear my mind, and only really competed long distance when I was still at school 🙂

I also played volleyball and basketball for my school team in high school, and played tennis socially for around 4 years. Though I was never really very good haha. It was really fun though and I also had a group of great people that made it enjoyable.

Social tennis is so much fun @cherryblossom13 You play with and against different people every week - we used to draw names out of a hat to see who played who and there were many varied abilities of players that played so it was always different. I used to play Tuesday nights and Sundays until injury and work took over.

We used to have our cross country course that went past my Nan and Pop's house - so often I would go a different way to avoid the normal longer route then join back up at the end when everyone went past their place. The funny thing was when we used to have our competition races I would always be up front - just hated running for the sake of it ...but put a ball or raquet in my hand and I could run all day

Yep watching it @MDT If he can break him early in this set then he can go all the way....

Re: All Things Sport...

Williams is out. Osaka is too. If Federer loses that's a lot to handle.

@Zoe7

This is why I like tennis. It's all about how well they play in the day.

Re: All Things Sport...

Was sooo pleased to see Williams go out @MDT Never been a fan of hers at all. Millman is doing so well but needs to hold here...

Re: All Things Sport...

I find that with Williams as well @Zoe7

Yeah hopefully millman can get this. Federer is a bit all over the shop tonight.

Is tobes or cat up with you watching too?

Re: All Things Sport...

Cat is still outside and Tobes is asleep next to me @MDT He is never far away!

Years ago my Mum and I had tickets to a night session - both Federer and Williams were playing ...neither of us cared at all about those two so we sold our tickets back through the box office - they went in about a minute and we went out to dinner!

Re: All Things Sport...

Haha nice work @Zoe7

I do like Federer as he is a humble winner. I wish more athletes had his attitude.
