yes i have often wondered about the rivalry and a tassie AFL team.....but even though they would most likely be based in Hobart.....even though we had the first AFL ground here (yep the rivarly rears its ugly head again lol) the team would be called the Tassie something or rather, they won't be called the Hobart --------- or the Launceston ----- you would think so maybe the rivalry won't be an issue.....but because the hurricanes have Hobart in their name....welll that is a different story......but i am in a minority there as the majority of northerners go for the hurricanes.........i just can't bring myself to do it.....but when they are not playing my team i do barrack for them....like my second team......

It is ridiculous that we don't already have an AFL team @Scarecrowe So much talent and so many players have come from here ...and it is a traditional AFL state. They can continue to pour money into the Gold Coast with no success or reward for all the money spent on them yet we are still not a consideration ...totally ridiculous.

yep good on you AFL keep putting money towards teams in a rugby based state but don't worry about tassie even when we are an AFL based state.........................it is extremely perplexing................................and we have two fab stadiums all ready to use no money needs to be spent on upgrades right away.......

gets me mad everytime I think about it............................

Hmmm, I note that neither of you have mentioned the fact that your Tassie team is playing my NSW team in the current Sheffield Shield cricket match. For your info, its now day 2 of the 4 day match. Tassie all out for 268 in first innings, Starc took 5/40. NSW are currently 2/271 ... Smithy not out 102, and Henriques not out 116. So NSW already have a lead. With only 2 wickets down they will be having a bash tomorrow to bring up a big first innings lead for you guys to chase in days 3-4.

Yes I will be switching channels a bit tonight, because I very much want to watch the WBBL between Sixers and Heat. But I also want to watch the Wallabies against the Pommies. Torn ... my choice would be to watch the WBBL and switch occasionally to the rugby. But hubby controls the remote, and he will be watching the Rugby. 😵 I may be watching the cricket on a small tele on 7mate, rather than the big tele on Foxtel.

But right now, I too am in the middle of cooking dinner. Roast chicken with roasted potato and pumpkin, and steamed broccolini. About half an hour away from being ready.

Yes another Taswegian...guilty as charged...lol thanks for the cricket update in the sheffield shield.......but dare i say it................Tassie are my second team...........I barrack for Victoria (after my fav cricketer of all time Dean Jones) ooops very naughty of me i know not to barrack for my own state..........but i switched years ago when my love for Deano started lol. but when they are not playing the Vics I do hope Tassie wins.........and they play MUCH better cricket than what they did in the 80's that is for sure.................

isn't it hard when two sporting matches are on at the same time and you don't know which way to go...........................................that is when you need two tv's side by side one playing cricket the other playing rugby and one with the sound down..................
