Silence after a close bond

Silence after a close bond

Does anyone else struggle with the entire concept of detachment? I find it really hard to understand how you can be so close and connected to a person, they're the biggest part of your life every day. And then suddenly one day, something goes wrong and you never get to speak to that person again.

There's no closure, no forgiveness, no getting past it and mending things we broke because we still *bleeping* care about each other. Just silence, detachment, forever. You don't know them anymore they're a stranger. It's almost as if somebody died. I just find it really, really hard. It's not the kind of person I am. Once I've become super close to someone, letting them go is the most painful thing in the world. Even if one of us messed up or we both messed up.

I've always believed in the fact that we're only here on earth once, and we should spend our time making things right with the people we care for while we can. I don't know maybe it's just me. I love hard and I miss someone even harder. I never really forget them or stop wishing I could fix it. But they don’t ever come back sadly.

Appreciate you being so open and transparent about your life and your experiences @REDLINEZ750

Love can be tricky and it can be painful like you shared, but without love we'd miss out on all the small pleasures that life brings.

I can see you've experienced many in your life which is warming to hear. However, grief/loss is not the end love, only a part of it.

It takes courage to reflect and open up about life's challenges and pain. I'd encourage you or anyone to keep that courage in hopes you can open yourself to that love you're deserving of again.

You're not alone 🙂

12-13 on the cusp of adolescence to have your world ripped away would be completely disorienting @REDLINEZ750 . I guess the estrangement from your kids was more gradual. I take it your marriage didn't last either.

I'm so damaged I've never had a partner or kids. Was recently told I could have taken my siblings to court over what they did.

What about now? Are you in stable housing? Do you have any companion animals eg dog? I have a geriatric cat who's been good company. He'll be my last.
