Friday Coffee and Chat -- 24th October 2025

I had a good day thanks @ENKELI . Had to turn heater on for a couple of hours. Going to bed after news nice and warm there.

@Kashmina I wouldn't have a clue what it is like outside, because I haven't left my bed. I know it has been raining, but other than that, I wouldn't have a clue. I ducked out quickly yesterday to pick up some coins from my parcel locker, and I was surprised how cold it was outside.

@GezzaP that sounds like a plan. I was just chatting to a friend of mine who is at uni in Melbourne and she mentioned that it was cold there with a lot of rain.

I like the rainy weather when I have nothing to do and a good book. I'm usually snuggled up in bed with my cat and a hot drink.

@ENKELI Cat slept with me last night. I slept a glorious 7 1/4 hours! Early riser I know that’s because when it’s cold I like to go to bed early.

@GezzaP so glad you're getting a decent rest, there's nothing like a refreshing sleep!

It must be cold if the cat sleeps with you lol!

Do you like the cooler weather or prefer the heat?

@ENKELI Yes puss slept with me. I like temperatures in the 20s. Once it goes over 30 i’m too hot. Especially hate over 32 degrees. And the worst is hot nights. These days I leave my air conditioner on over night if warm and ceiling fan too. Going to be 25 today so perfect.

@GezzaP When I was younger I preferred the heat but not anymore! I am the same, once it hits 30 it starts getting uncomfortable. I don't have air conditioning in my house aside from a portable unit and an old loud F-16 (as in sounds like an F-16 taking off) wall unit that makes the electricity bill triple just by looking at it. I usually don't care when the summer kicks in though, I'd rather foot the bill and be comfortable.

Hello @ENKELI ! I have solar panels so get small electricity bills in the Summer. I have ducted air conditioner. I used to like heat when I was young too, but hate it now. I do like the early mornings though. Like to go for a walk and potter in the garden.
