hey @Nado welcome to the forums 😊

i have social anxiety too! it can be so overwhelming and tiring having to initiate or keep up with social interactions hey. but you're absolutely not alone here 💙

like @MG2879 mentioned, talking to a professional can be really helpful - the person i spoke to helped me realise why my social anxiety was so strong. once i knew the 'why', i worked on reframing things and building more self-confidence.

are there certain parts about socialising that are challenging for you? i'm happy to share some tips where i can 😊

but in general, i'd say that every little step counts!! good on you for coming here and reaching out - that step counts too!!

Re: Talk on social anxiety

Hi , I have recently had some small panic attacks when attempting to do handovers to 3 staff in my nursing role and i`m wondering why i have these feelings again. I have started night duty after many years and in the early morning handover my brain goes to mush and i feel myself panicking and get the old dry mouth, trembley voice and lose my focus and i feel very embarrassed. I did it the other night also and i`m thinking , wow i`m a 59yr old and this is happening again like it did when i was at school and at university. Any suggestions? I am trying deep breathing exercises and redirecting my focus to my body( feeling toes, rubbing fingers) but hate how it makes me feel. Any other strategies as I have to keep working.
