my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

hi everyone my middle son who many of you know so well told me something today on his visit. he said that he had been hearing voices who were telling him to do things to the people at his supported living. in the same breath he said that he wouldnt do anything because he wanted a gun licence. he is perhaps the most disturbed person that i have ever known.

Re: my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

@StuF StuF and you know what is really awful is the normality of it all. we were sitting at the table. he was ignoring his poor dad and was looking at me right in the eyes as he told me. then when he left i was like okay well what do i do now call his psychologist just in case he acts upon the voices i would hate to not have said something to someone ... i went into the kitchen got a bottle of water and spoke to my daughter like nothing had happened .... it is all so normal just another day.

Yeah @Bunniekins

It so Shouldn't have to be "normal"!

So you did speak with his psychologist?

Hugs Bella @Bunniekins

my son is completely different, but I understand caring with complex mental health in the family. I get the skewed sense of normal.

are you ever able to have conversations about values with your middle son?

Re: my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

@StuF yes he is wonderful he listened and we both agreed to watch my son carefully but not to take him to hospital or increase his meds at this time. what my son said to me was he was having a drink with one of the other house mates when the voice told him to do something (he wouldnt tell me what) to the house mate. i promised we wouldnt put him back in hospital it is pointless in any case. this has been normal for 15 years. it is weird that i can talk about something like this and then ask my daughter if she would like a cup of tea? do you get what i mean this should be freaking me out and it does but i can switch to it doesnt. hugs StuF

@Appleblossom Hi Apple my son hasnt got a him he is a complex mesh of different personalities which are his entities and voices. he is very disturbed and it has become more evident as he has gotten older even at 31, i love him dearly but his autism gets in the way of some complex thought.

Re: my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

Great that you spoke with his psychologist @Bunniekins

Sounds a fair approach for now

Well, you've obviously developed coping mechanisms out of necessity. I suspect being a mother has helped lead you to a pattern whereby you and your family are (somewhat) safe

Re: my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

@StuF thank you for talking with me StuF i really appreciate it so much. it is like my secret or our families secret. my ex is totally oblivious to it (prob his dementia kicking in) when out of all the people who has been hurt by my middle son it has been him. it is like my middle son is an abuser but he is also a victim in it he cant help it. he takes his meds does everything right but is tormented by these voices who tell him to do awful things, he is also a teddy bear. it is hard because he is not a monster he is loving caring funny guy,

Re: my disturbed middle son *trigger Warning*

Is it good that at least he is expressing his thoughts, so he is conscious that it is a voice @Bunniekins better than acting on them?

good you could contact his team and talk… without escalation

it wouldn’t be easy

i know you love him

sending love to you
