@Shaz51 Good seeing you around. i think i'm doing bettr than yesterday. Not feeling near as anxious as i have lately, though it is not over yet, i dare hope this mood is cycling past. i hope so!
My wife and me have ben discussing issue we are having with our daughter moving into her own home. Our girl is severely mentally handicapped and at 37 we bought her a house and got 24/5.5 per week funding. She has been doing exceptionally well the last 2 months moving in, but we noticed last week already that she needed much more down time, for she had not been processing her week away well. This weekend it has come to a blow with a worker, who got her basically at the end of her mental endurance. And hadher behaving in ways she did not know how to deal with. And we were called for.
We got her home today and know perfectly well what has gone wrong. Her workers have been too focussed on her achieving her goals, and she has not been given enough time to process her emotions and feelings.
Our girl finds it hard to express her feelings. We know this and give her down time after exciting events, so she can process all the evens, and talk them through in her head. Which she ONLY does on her own, when she feels unpressured and safe. When we hear her talking to herself, in animated ways, we know things are going well.
So we trying to work out how to best inform the workers about how to tackle this from now on. For we do not like seeing our girl like this. She is completely out of it. Having read her weekly activity book, we can easily see how come we have our girl like this. Somehow we have to get the workers alert enough to understand when she needs down time, and how to know when she does not, or has enough. We know, but such are difficult things to explain. For our daughter will not speak about her emotions easily, and if she does often confusingly unless people really know her well.
Anyhow this is how my Saturday has been so far.😄
