Re: I feel tense

Gday @ArraDreaming how are you going today?

Do you identify with the feeling that sometimes, using the phone sends your brain into hyperdrive? For me, sometimes I find that it is overstimulating and it speeds up my brain and also makes me want to go on the phone to keep the brain moving fast. I find myself trapped in a loop where my body is really stiff and tired, but my brain is making me look at the phone.

It is proven science that all of the apps are designed to be addictive to the mind and body, like a poker machine. Therefore the odds are stacked against us to put the phone down because it's boring, our brains have been conditioned into colours and sounds and holding the bloody thing.

Sometimes it can help to force your body to slow down by taking the phone away, just like being a little kid if they are hyped up over the computer game, turn it off and GIT OUTSIDE!

It might be useful to do some slow yoga or "progressive relaxation trechniques" or to try to do meditation or listen to trance type new age music because those things slow your brain down and turn off the grabby-chatter. It's hard to change gears into fast mind-slow body but I find if I am scuttling up the wall with frustration and a fast moving mind, I can exhaust myself mentally by hammering the computer but what really works is leaving the phone in the house, going for a walk or forcing my body to slow down.

And if people are chasing up the phone being demanding or annoying etc it's a great way to create some distance and peace when your own life is drowning it's hard or impossible to be there for others so they have to let you regenerate some energy. I hope you feel better today.
