I thought your Doctor doubled the dosage of your sleep medication. Are they still not working?

Hey @Rhymster, thanks for sharing your experience! Sounds like you are having a few challenges and I'm curious what you have tried such as practicing good sleep hygiene and reducing screen time? RiverSeal

This has been going on for a while now. I would suggest going back to your doctor. Eventually if you don't sleep you will hit a full out manic episode.

I was literally wide-awake last night for 13 hours. My body won't relax and go to sleep. I don't feel sleepy but I am tired. My brain is on and overworking and won't switch off even when there are no thoughts. My medication don't work to sedate me anymore. This keeps happening every few days and last night was the worse in 2 or 3 months! @Rhymster when you lose sleep, are you awake or in bed?

I have had the same, but I've had less sleep since Wednesday I just don't sleep at all and when I'm almost asleep my body just jerks me awake. I've tried sleeping medication but have given up because I've figured it has to be something else. This started 5 yrs ago. I've seen a neurologist GP and a psychologist. No diagnosis except insomnia. I even changed my diet. I went on keto and that made my insomnia worse. I'm on a fruit diet at the moment hopefully the sugar will help. I wish you the best

Going to try the "keep the bedroom cool at roughly 18 degrees" strategy for sleeping faster tonight. I hope it works!
I've been awake for 48 hours! Don't want to make the mark at 72 hours!
Will keep everyone updated if this strategy works.

I've heard that @FearofUnknown . In that our bodies need to cool down in order to sleep.
Let us know how it goes 🙂

@tyme @Light4 @Rhymster Made my room cool like it is a hospital room and slept with the fan whirling loudly and had a decent 5 hours or so sleep.
Really need to cool down or else those racing thoughts will start invading the brain!
Next is how to beat the sun rising even though I have light-blocking curtains and an eye mask, I've got no intention to watch the sun rising every morning! I usually wake up at around 3am and stay awake until the morning at 9 o'clock. Can't fall back asleep, not even with the fan still whirling.
Going to repeat it tonight to see if it still works.
