Puff for pain!

Puff for pain!

I've lived on strong pain medication for years and recently had a bout of kydney stones and a slipped disc at the same time. So pain became unbearable, creeping into all aspects of my life. One night I was in extreme pain and tried to get my sister to call a dr or ambulance. If you knew me you would know that I was desperate because I always say that I'd have to be unconcious to get me to our local hospital. As it was she didn't think she could manage so I lay in the fetal position all night, in pain and alone.

About midnight the next night I carried my dog downstairs to take him for a wee walk and was crying in the back yard. My neighbour was out at that time and offered me a joint for the pain. Worried about the effects, I hesitated but eventually had a puff. Relaxation helped me cope with it all and I even got a little dreamless sleep for the first time in weeks. I asked my psychologist about it and said that one of the main problems was that I couldn't afford it. She asked me if I could afford not to.

What does anyone think? I know there are all sorts of ideas about psychological effects from cannabis use but this maybe my only option...

Injured templars used the eastern herb to dull pain. The problem is it dulls everything. So the easy trap to fall into is to use it as a coping mechanism for everything. Have a bad day numb it. Get in an argument numb it... without proper regulation of a pharmacist watching over you I wouldn't recommend it. But as a sort term solution... anything that helps.

I knew it wouldnt really touch my pain levels I had so it wasnt really a temptation for me.

For me music is the "drug of choice" as it has less side effects.

What I thought was really nice was .. that help and understanding came over the back fence ...

thats community.

@Appleblossom I know, neighbours hey, cant live with them, cant live without them. We actually share a carport so it's hard not to know if something is going on. But at midnight I did think I was alone, embarrased to find someone near at such a vulnerable time. Now I do have to decide what to do.

The problem is, forget the side effects, I don't like the smell or the taste, and even have trouble lighting a match..ha. Is it really worth it?

I rely on music too. My CD player goes non stop all night, each and every night and you are right there are heaps less concerns with it.lol

@Appleblossom my poor family listen to me sing replies to almost every situation, starting in the morn when I come to wake my dog and get him out of bed, with a rendition of ...good morning bailey, the world says hello!!! I think he is learning to moan..lol

Used to play the guitar and have actually been thinking of taking it up again. Actually iwned 3 but they were stolen and of course the only one that mattered to me ie given to me by mum, was not recovered. However I think getting back to playing might help, although a strain to those who can hear.
