@StuF I had the same thoughts about Bieber!
A friend of mine was a mad keen Russell Crowe fan and she actually paid me to see his band when they were ion Perth. I took a girlfriend with me and we walked out halfway through the show. I bought the CD because my friend recommended it and we have the same tastes in a lot of other music. I can't remember the last time I actually listened to it but I found this little gem when surfing the You Tubes and it reminded me of how bad Russ is as a singer.

Back when Foxtel was basic and you couldn't pause movies I watched Gladiator. I sat through the full 2.5 hours without getting up to get a drink, go for a pee or go outside for a smoke so I give huge props to Russ as an actor. I still love that movie and think it's the reason that his CD hit #7 on the Aussie charts.

Thank goodness he gave up the band!

As a side note, when I worked for (Edited by moderator) I had Russ's home number, mobile and email address. I had several people offer to pay me a lot of money for them!

I've never seen Gladiator! I know I should, but there are far trashier movies in line first! lol

(And also classics - I have the DVDs for the Godfather trilogy sitting next to me as I type)

I did love A Beautiful Mind...came out when I was more unwell than today. Saw it with my mum, was a good shared experience...bonding, I guess

@StuF yes A Beautiful Mind is up there in my top list. I have that on DVD too!

The story goes that while Russ was nominated for an Academy Award for A Beautiful Mind there was no way he would have won it as there had only ever been 2 back to back winners for best actor (Spencer Tracey & Tom Hanks) and there was no way a non American was going to be the third back to back winner. Plus he was up against Denzel Washington. I'll let you think of that as you choose.
