Something’s not right

A lot of work, hope its worth it

A lot of work, hope its worth it

Hi guys, I have been absent for a bit, but I thought it might be time to check in, sorry for the long post but I need to let it out.

Currently I am dealing with alot, anxiety and depression mainly, morning anxiety is smashing me, but I try to roll on, got to work, do the home thing and keep my wife and my relationship maintained.

Our teenage daughter has been court ordered to live with her grandparents for the interim due to her being violent and manipulative at home. It's hard and it's a process, but it's probably for the best just to give my wife and I, along with our 5yo son a circuit breaker (as the authorities called it)

We have therapies in place, my daughter has her personal Psychologist, I have mine and we are all due to start family work, with a wonderful Psychologist that has agreed to take us on with family mediation and assist with my daughter being placed under a Section 14.

Life is really challenging at the moment, especially on an emotional scale, as well as parenting by proxy, as my parents do not exactly have the same parental methods as my wife and I.

I made the decision yesterday to let them make the decisions where my daughter is concerned (you know doing typical teenage activities), without anymore input from my wife and I, it was a hard decision, but I feel necessary.

Hopefully once the court case is done, and family therapy kicks in, and my daughter has a proper diagnosis (possobly ADHD, and maybe BPD) we can all move on and become closer, but the process is hard and emotionally draining.

Again sorry for the long winded venting, but just needed to get it out there.

Thanks everyone.

Hopefully not many of you have to go through this.

Thank you for sharing @jrn ,

It certainly sounds like a lot you are contending with. I'm glad some things have been put in place to support you at this time, including having some respite while your daughter finds her feet in life.

I hear there's still a way to go. Please know we are sitting with you.

Thankyou for you kind words @tyme .

Just really glad the forums are about.

I am using my mantra to help with anxiety " focus on the moments situation, not your minds anticipation " it does alot to help keep me in the present.
