Oh let us know how you go @Shaz51, fingers crossed you are assigned with someone who you click with if you choose a buddy! Sounds useful and sounds they will know a bit about all the procedures and know the tests you be having etc so could be good! I guess you have nothing to loose right with trail run? 😊

My day has been ok thanks, a rest day today. Back to my big list tomorrow 😅 lol

Is an IPS course to do with computers @Blackcloud Forgive my ignorance. I'm not familiar with the letters.

... 😂 I've just asked ChatGPT to tell me. So, it's an Individual Placement and Support course that finishes tomorrow. I hope I've got that right! 💛

I love your mantra! @Faith-and-Hope My symbol is a heart, and I was at home when they rang me! 😁 I'm putting pictures up at the moment in rebellion of the non-functioning support button! 💛

@heartathome No, IPS stands for Intentional Peer Support, it’s 100% like giving peer work/peer support like the peer workers here on SANE Forums are ☺️ that’s what I’d like to aim for in a career if I’m able to

Hi @Blackcloud @Shaz51 @heartathome @Chasingsunsets @Faith-and-Hope @Ru-bee @tyme @Jynx @ENKELI @rav3n and others. Thanks for all of the kind words and thoughts. It’s very much appreciated!

I’m starting to struggle with the whole carer and house moving situation and I’m not enjoying myself tonight. My housemate is causing issues as her mental and physical heath are going downhill, to the point where a hospital visit/potential operation may be needed. This is causing me to feel stressed and under pressure as I have to go and check out the storage unit on Thursday and sign a contract for it if it’s suitable and I’m not feeling confident doing it alone as the storage unit will be mostly her stuff. As it is, I’m having to pay the first month on it as she’s got no money and she’s even now causing trouble with the moving date next week if we go ahead with the storage unit as she’s trying to get funding to move - no success at the moment. Even then, I’ll be finding most of the 2 moves because of her money issues, despite her getting more money than me from Centrelink. She uses the lines of her medical issues costing more money and other excuses/ reasons yet still manages to purchase endless things she doesn’t need like stationery- pens, textas- as she’s got enough of them to supply an officeworks shop. I’ve been through my wool collection today and I’m offended with how much wool I’ve found and have to move to my new place - let’s just say I won’t be purchasing any more for a year until I use it up in the form of knitting jumpers, blankets and beanies for charity.

I’m going to try and write things out in a journal entry and listen to some music. Knitting a jumper will also be happening tonight as well - currently working on a sleeve. I’ll speak to my carer peer worker tomorrow or definitely Thursday when I meet him again.

Thanks for reading this.

Take care.

Hey @Judi9877 , sounds like you are between a rock and a hard place. I don't envy that aituation at all.

I feel that friend is incredibly fortunate to have a friend (you!) that is going *above and beyond* your obligations to help with paying for the move and organising it and trying to support her through it too. Wow, that is A LOT for you.

I hope she can get some funding support - and even if it is not approved until after the move date, can she still claim it to pay you back? As in you pay for it now as a "loan" to her to repay?

I would also find it really hard if i felt they were spending money on non-essentials and thus not able to contribute their share to the costs. Recognising that now may be a difficult time to discuss it with her due to her stress with declining health, but i wonder if you feel this is something you could discuss with her in the future? Or even now that you could "lend" the money but expect it to be slowly paid back over time? (If thats what you are wanting).

What other supports (paid and unpaid) does your housemate have currently?

I saw the picture and instructions for the beanie in the newslettwr this evening. It's lovely! 🥰😍. Good thing you have lots of wool -- plenty of hours of therapy knitting and so many warm items to donate 😉.

I'm sorry. I couldn't any further away from the facts @Blackcloud (except computers). I've never heard of Intentional Peer Work before. ChatGPT got it so wrong, so I did! Sorry. I think you would make a excellent peer worker! You've been very good with me!! I hope you get to work somewhere cool, like this place. 💛
