@Shaz51 I'm all good. Sorry you've got the dreaded lurgy! I hope it clears up as you rest. Has it gone to the chest? 😟

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

Sorry to hear that you're not well @Shaz51 but I'm glad you've been able to rest and have the vicks on hand. I'd love a cuppa, I really want a coffee but am jittery enough today so I might have a tea instead

Do you take antibiotics or cold and flu stuff. My mother used to use Vicks on us as kids. She used to slap it on under my nose and all over my chest. I can't stand the smell anymore. I don't wonder why. :face_with_rolling_eyes: I guess some people find it reassuring, like you do. Can you believe it? Vicks has been around for 70 years in Australia! I probably even used it when my son had a cold as a child, 30 odd years ago! I'm sure it would have been in my 'first aid' kit. 🙂

Hi @Shaz51 and others joining here! What a Wednesday it has been- full of drama, mixed Victorian weather, carer issues, etc! I hope your Wednesday is going well for you wherever you’ve been doing!

@Shaz51 I’m going out in sympathy for you in regards to your cold/ flu illness as I’ve also had a cold since late Saturday/ early Sunday- probably brought on by stress in my life at the moment- housing issues, carer issues, health issues, etc. I hope you feel better soon! I’ve been taking pain meds to help me get through it - snuffy nose and sneezing mostly- as well as spraying some eucalyptus spray in the house to help combat my illness. So far, it’s working pretty well. Maybe you should try this if you’re interested?

The rest of the day has been spent knitting a baby jumper for charity to add to my collection to be dropped off on Friday for the final collection day and catching up with a carer peer worker via phone to discuss all things carer related to my housemate and my situation which has been really helpful. My carer peer worker is really easy to talk to and has lots of great advice and supportive ideas and tips as he’s a carer himself. I’ve also been able to pass some information on to him in regards to housing and mental health information that he didn’t know about which makes the conversations better for both of us. He’s even offered to help get the carer organisation to fund a respite break if I need it over the next hectic 3 months which I’ll be experiencing- moving house, starting uni, etc. Tonight, it’s a case of chilling out in front of the tv with the final episode of RFDS and getting take away for dinner.

What’s the plans for the rest of the day, forumites? What’s on the dinner menu?

Take care!
