Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@rav3n they said that the enrolment applications usually take 1-2 weeks. However, the applications for trimester 3 are being prioritised at the moment because trimester 3 at that uni is about to start next week. The degrees I've applied to only had the trimester 1 2026 intakes available so I had to choose that intake. I do hope I can receive the outcome by the end of this Friday because I did apply for it almost 2 weeks ago now, which was on a Friday.

Hi @rav3n @Cuddlebear since you guys are also in Victoria, (please know I’m not mentioning this to fear-monger you guys or anything) I was wondering if any of you are aware of the increased crimes (carjackings, [Moderator edit] attacks, home break-ins) that are happening here these days?

I’ve been keeping up with the news for a while and there seems to be at least one of these crimes happening in Victoria on a daily basis now

says a lot about how Victoria of today is in general & same goes with Sydney too

I kind of wish I can move interstate (as of lately I’m thinking Perth or Adelaide) but due to a few reasons I can’t move interstate haha

I guess I just have to be thankful now that the area I live in is pretty safe from the looks of it & that I live in a student accomodation even tho I’m currently not living in a permanent housing (apartment). But still I kind of wish I could move out of here lol

@Blackcloud How are you? I know it looks like it’s getting worse but it’s not. It’s the media reporting more and making it sound worse. They are unfortunately scaring people. They amplify and cause people to think crime is everywhere and increasing when in truth it’s not. As we head into a Victorian election they do this stuff.

@Blackcloud I’m glad you are on. I’ve been battling through this medicine reduction. It’s not easy. It’s been very difficult. But I’m proud of myself for getting through.

The support here has been really helpful.

Amazing @Blackcloud ! Well done with being approved for service! Means they are confident with your ability to safely support people 🥰😍. You are a champion star in my books.

I'm proud of you for doing your 4th shift even when you didn't feel like it - I know that isn't easy to do.

I hope they can take into accommodation just 2 interactions per shift (perhaps under Reasonable Workplace Adjustments for disabilities?). They may be surprised and find there are other staff who would like to also do just 2 interactions and share the other half of the shift. Fingers and toes crossed for you. 😊

Excited for you re: transferring course hopefully Trimester 1 2026! Hope they confirm it for you soon so you have certainly. 🙂

And hope you are able to pick a transferable subject for this upcoming T3 2025 too 😊.

I often feel like going back to study at uni, but then I look at the prices and remember the pressure of exams and due dates for assessments that dont always align with health or work or travel...

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@Cuddlebear oh I can imagine how difficult and uneasy it has been to be dealing with the symptoms related to the withdrawals. I’ve been there myself & having to go through it all until late 2023 is mainly why I ended up starting uni a few years after I graduated high school 😒 I know it’s not a bad thing to start uni at a mature age so I’m trying to accept that.

I’m so proud of you for getting through it as well. I know it’s not easy having to deal with it all. I’m not sure what else to really say other than I’m praying for you & that hopefully all of these symptoms you’re dealing with right now will eventually pass ❤️

@Blackcloud Good morning my friend. How are you?

Yes the medicine taper is very hard. I’m still going through it with a lot of uncomfortable symptoms. I have a while to go before it’s done too. Was there anything that helped you get through it?

You know it’s not bad at all starting Uni as a mature age. You being in more life experience and this helps with knowing what you want to study and with learning too. You are doing really awesome navigating it all.

Re: Fancy a cuppa , Connect now 2

@Cuddlebear hi my friend, I’m okay.

For my situation, I used corticosteroids (steroid creams) for a skin condition I was developing during covid (due to excessive hand washing/hand sanitising). And because I was using the steroid creams for longer than a few days (because my doctor advised me to do so) that’s when I developed symptoms that were 100x worse than the normal eczema symptoms & I’ve dealt with all for almost 3 years since then (January 2021 until October 2023). During that whole period I used the creams on and off cause I thought they would be the only solution to “cure” or get rid of those symptoms. I didn’t realise until in July 2023 onwards that I was going through what’s called “topical steroid withdrawal” (aka TSW)

fast forward to October - that was around the time I was living on my own in my parents house whilst the whole family were out overseas. I was keeping up to date with all the influencers on social media that were going through TSW & I happened to stumble across a topical probiotic skincare brand [edited by moderator]

So I started using their [edited by moderator] products to see if they will get rid of my TSW symptoms, and they did! [edited by moderator] is an amazing brand for individuals with all kinds of skin conditions & their products literally saved my life! I’ve been a customer of theirs for 2 years now & have been continuing to buy their products, although their products are more on the expensive side, but so far they’re the only brand that I can rely on when it comes to dealing with skin conditions.

and since I began to use their products in October 2023, I was able to get my life back as soon as the TSW symptoms went away. So last year I took a semester gap and then started doing a Cert 4 course at uni semester 2 last year.
