Need to vent about this

Need to vent about this

I posed a while back and introduced my self and wrote a bit about what I've been going through.

I'm struggling so hard to deal with things. And I feel like I'm doing everything right. I take multiple different medications, I've been in the gym 4ish days a week, eating better and I have good friends But nothing makes me feel less lonely or less depressed.

I'm unemployed, Family's struggling and every day I get more and more depressed. The other day I just sat in the living room for a good 40 minutes trying to reassure myself that the future holds something for me. But it's like I'm telling a lie to myself. I can't help but dwell on all the opportunities I lost that could've made some kind of difference. I still feel guilty for attempting suicide 7 years ago. I try and put the past behind me but I can't get away from the thoughts of what I've been through. I just feel so angry because I feel like I didn't get to enjoy my childhood, my teens and my adult life. i want to settle down and have a career. I feel like everyone around me has kind of just accepted that I will never beat this. I feel that way but I like to myself and tell myself something is around the corner of in my future if I just keep going. I could probably write a book about what goes on in my mind and what I've been through but I'll leave it there. I just want some kind of reassurance that I have something in my future to look forward to.

hey @C13

just saying good thing you came back here

you got a lot going on i say you got some strength your maybe not allowing yourself to see it.

having no job your not alone man it doesnt define you as a person it helps financially of course but times are tough for people who are employed also.

focusing on what if and i should ofs are the bane of humanity its not a flaw you have we all suffer there if give it too much of ourselves and as far as 7 years ago is that being presented by anyone other than yourself because thats going hold you down man for what its worth i hope ypur safe .

if your in any way a believer of new testament its said you are only ever put through what god knows you can handle and we all exist to his plan not our own.

it helps me through some times similiar to this one your in currently,

if your not i mean no offence

You just spoke what's on my mind. @C13 so thank you.

I can especially relate to the part that you said "I can't help but dwell on all the opportunities I lost that could've made some kind of difference".

Now it is about keeping your eyes and ears open, to be alert and not hyper-vigilant. I hope things can restart itself again.

Do you think you can re-chase those lost opportunities and really go after them this time?)

I come from a Catholic family and do have my faith. Sometimes I just pray that God gives me enough to keep going and push through. But sometimes I just feel like no matter what I can't shake what's going on in my head

I don't feel like it's possible. I can't go back and fix those things. I had my chance with those chances and blew it every time. Now those are gone and as for relationships and friendships I messed up, most of them aren't in my life anymore for various reasons. The one or two I could still reach out to I made peace with.

Mostly I just want to go back to when I didn't know mental health exists. Back when I was ignorant. Ignorance is bliss but at least I assumed things would be better someday. Now I'm just depressed, struggling to lose weight and feel like I have no future

Ignorance cost me my dream job, so I would say that ignorance isn't bliss.

"THE MORE YOU KNOW, THE MORE YOU GROW"

That's why it is important to educate yourself about your mental health condition. I definitely felt a lot better when I asked for more information.
