Welcome and getting started

BPD CPTSD disassociation anxiety depression

BPD CPTSD disassociation anxiety depression

Hi

im a single mum with my son living with my parents

I was diagnosed a few years ago with the above

I have seen a few different psychologists over the past few years

I was going good for a little bit but have been triggered by a recent loss of a friends Nanna

Now all of my fears and catastrophising and the disassociation and feelings of emptiness have reared up

My mind is constantly worrying about my aging parents as we live with them and also not being able to cope on my own and raise my son if something happens to them

also worrying about what will happen to them

I have been so overwhelmed with all the thoughts that it almost sent me into hospital

I don’t know why I try to avoid hospitalisation

i think it’s because I worry about the effects it will have on my son and have

Hey there @Arieschic86

It sounds like there is a lot going on for you at the moment, so well done on taking this step to reach out and connect with your peers on the forums. Being a single mum managing multiple mental health diagnoses is a lot to have on your plate, and I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your friends Nanna. I understand this has been a trigger for you, and the fears, catastrophising, dissociation, and emptiness you talk about must be incredibly overwhelming.

Having your mind plagued with constant worry can be debilitating, and it can make reaching out to supports feel so much harder. To be able to identify your reasons for avoiding hospitalisation shows deep emotional insight, and those concerns for how it may impact your son are valid. That internal conflict sounds really difficult.

I see you have seen a few psychologists over the years, and I wonder if you have considered reconnecting with a mental health professional for some more tailored support? I know that taking this step can be daunting, so this is something I encourage you to do when you are comfortable and ready!

I can also recommend connecting with Beyond Blue, who are able to offer free and confidential support around the clock. If this is something you are needing, then you are able to connect here via phone or webchat counselling - whatever feels best for you 😊

I'm sure that the community will have some insights to share with you soon!
