Most councils regardless of state will have access to online audiobooks

I use an app called hoopla that a number of my local libraries allow limited borrows a month but a much larger catalogue

As soon as I sit in my bed I will start hunting around. Thanks for that, I will definitely check it out. Now I have something to look forward to when I can get to bed 🤣

I love that the apps have timers too! And it's so much more engaging than watching tv! With no ad breaks!

I have no idea how many books I've listened to since moving here and then getting sick, I wonder how much will change when I get internet here and can stream again...

@avant-garde oh that's definitely an added bonus, it's great to have something that's more engaging. I don't watch normal TV cos I can't handle ads but I do use a few of the streaming apps.

I'm glad you've been able to still listen to books especially while being sick. Maybe you'll continue to listen to books rather than streaming, it's nice to not be stuck staring at a screen all day long so finding something that's more engaging is excellent.

It won't be but it's easily enough to reactivate

Just call the library, give them the card number and update your details

(I trained as a librarian, specialising in special needs with a keen interest in electronic resources)

Libraries... they make me smile, feel safe and settled and where you can travel to the highest mountain, explore the Mariana trench and have tea with a dragon while being tucked in safe at home...
