Managing thoughts of suicide & self-harm

My thoughts

My thoughts

Hi,

*trigger warning ⚠️

*I have followed my safety plan - i am safe at home, i have notified my safe person and have had PRN*

Im struggling today, my thoughts have been consuming me. And as always the only solution It has, is suicide. I was diagnosed with OCD - persistent suicidality at 13.. so the feeling isnt something I havent battled before. I have had a safety plan drilled into me since my first daughter.

I think its that this time I am completely alone. In my journey of trying to heal my complex trauma I made the decision to remove family and people who promoted a lifestyle that was harmful to my recovery, including drugs, alcohol, gaslighting, manipulation and just flat out control.

I have spent years talking about my trauma and disability, tried the treatments, medications and hospital stays. I feel im moving forward and learning who I can be without the trauma and cables taking front seat.

But these thoughts suck, makes me feel like im back to step 1 again.

But today, after my medications are sig. Delayed by post, no other authoritie scripts can be written for more, these appointments cost so much!

im feeling lost inside my mind, begging myself not to spill myself. Spiralling into plans and ways I could keep my children safe but still end my life. Im exhausted, I want sleep and I want company. Or non judgement. I want to feel safe without being sent 3 hrs away to a ward.. feeling heard is hard, people either dont take you seriously or take you too seriously.

Idk, this probably makes no sense at all, but im trying to empty my mind before I head to sleep. tHankyou guys for reading, stay safe. Ill check in later when I wake up

Hi @Gab93

Hearing how hard things are right now, and how alone you're feeling. I'm really glad that you've been able to reach out here and use this space as a bit of an outlet. I hope that in doing this you can also feel just a bit less alone, because we are here for you

Thank you for letting us know about your safety plan and that you're safe at the moment. Hoping that you get some rest and we'll be here when you wake if you need to talk

Re: My thoughts

Hope you feel a but better after your sleep @Gab93 . Chronic suicidal thoughts suck; I agree.

I hope your medications arrive soon! That really does not help if they're delayed by the post delivery.

I wonder if your doctor (or psychiatrist if you have one) have any sample packs you could ask for if medication is delayed in the future?

I used to work for GPs and a psychiatrist and both had free samples of most brandname medications. I may have once found this very useful when I forgot to take my medication before work and started getting physical withdrawal symptoms 😅. Saved by a sample pack lol.

Im pretty busy this week/end, but usually im otherwise on a decent amount and happy to chat if im online. 😊

Chatting about suicidal thoughts, safety plans/interventions, or distraction topics are all fine by me.

Re: My thoughts

Thankyou for your responses,

I felt much better after a sleep, im not a fan of taking my PRN but they do seem to balance me when I am in need.

@AlwaysMyself thankyou for the sample pack recommendation. I have had them many many years ago and I havent thought of asking again, I shall call and see what my psychiatrist can send me.

I live in remote QLD so no matter what, all my medication needs to arrive by post, but I do remember the sample sizes are not huge.

Thankyou for the kind words, I hope you guys start your day feeling connected and ready to be your authentic selves
