Back to work

Back to work

Back to work tomorrow. Not feeling entirely ok, but as we all know that's ok.

Hopefully it will be a welcome distraction to the mornings anxiety. 7am starts can be quite helpful.

Wish me luck.

Re: Back to work

@jrn Hello how are you? Totally makes sense thwt work can help get your mind off things.

I’ve been reading some of your posts and I’m sorry you are feeling down. It’s hard isn’t it. From what you’ve written I can tell you are working hard on recovering. It can be difficult when raising a family. Sounds like the party went well yesterday 🙂

Re: Back to work

Hey @jrn

Restarting work is a big deal. It makes sense to not feel entirely okay I wish you the best of luck. Is there anything you could do to celebrate restarting work?

Re: Back to work

@Lapis_Anteater my wife and kids bought me a new work bag for father's day, so I will probably organise that, my current one it from when I started my trade 25 years ago 😅

Re: Back to work

@Cuddlebearwork is a good way for me to add something to the "you got through it again box". I can look back and say I might not have been ok, but carried on regardless. It gets a bit hard sometimes knowing that, like it not, stressful events, (raising a teenager atm) will probably trigger some form of hard anxiety and depression. Was thinking of going back on meds, but I really want to push myself to do it with my own head, at least I know that will always be there, and I won't build up a tolerance to it.

Re: Back to work

@jrn Absolutely is a huge thing to add to got through it toolbox. It provides a sense of purpose too which helps a lot I find.

I understand about the stresses of raising a teenager. I’m a mum to a 21 year old. It’s can be a hard time being a teenager and you should be proud of yourself that you are mindful and caring/loving towards what they are going through and that you are there for them. Mine went through stresses too but they’re much better now and studying full time and working part time. It does get better as they grow into adults. Keep loving them and being there for them. It helps them know they are loved and that their parents have their back.

You should definately do what feels right for you re medication. I’m on medication as I do need it. It’s not working that well at the moment but it’s helping a little.

Re: Back to work

Thanks @Cuddlebear

I find the hardest thing with the teenager, is letting go and watching them make their own choices. We have boundaries in place but most of the time they are ignored. There comes a point where you have to go " you are nearly 15 now, under the eyes of the law you now right from wrong, I can suggest helpful choices, but ultimately your path is your own". It's like watching a car accident in slow motion sometimes though, just waiting to be called upon to pick up the pieces, that's where most of my anxiety comes from. Also getting a bit sick and tired of stuff going missing (haha) the occasional bit pf money, and bits and pieces, but hey, that's expected of a teenager lol.
